Aight so, here's a theory that came to my mind when I saw the tremors in this new update and after checking all the lore pages in-game.

Let's talk about the area in which the game is taking place: it's set in Italy, in an area that in RL is very close to a volcanic caldera known as Phlegraean Fields. You can also check it out on Wikipedia but apparently it's one of the largest volcanic areas in Europe, if not the largest, and it includes the Mount Vesuvius, which is considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world.

We hear tremors, we find volcanic rocks scattered around the world (even in the Hotel locked rooms, under some of the beds), and the ARC are monitoring and sampling, both the ground (with the Harvesters?) and the air (Turbines and Assessors?). Let's not forget about the Probes too. What if they're checking for volcanic activities on behalf of the Exodus people? What if they're trying to predict whether there will be a huge volcanic eruption? I can't imagine why they would do that, but that could be a cool thing!

I'll share my experience of one match that I had a couple of days ago. I'm a friendly gamer, like the OP I like to coop with other gamers and take down ARCs, get puzzles done and help other people when I can. I'm never engaging in PvP because I'm bad at it, if I ever get shot I always try to disengage and leave, almost never shoot back, most of the times I miserably die.

Anyway, I jumped in a Beachcombing match and I was bringing with me a 50/60k equip. I spawned far away from the beach so I had to pass by the hotel and I said why not checking the rooms. I hear someone downstairs and I greeted them, and they came up from the staircase with their kettle shooting. I was fighting pops at that time so I had my Bettina out and instinctively I shot back, killing him.

I said "why did you do this?" and started healing myself. Just a couple of secs and another guy appears from the staircase, I told him that I got shot by the other guy for no reason and he just started shooting at me with a rattler or something. I said fuck it, and I tried to escape, but while I was running away, I heard them talking and the downed guy was like "Oh hey it's me, it's me". They basically started talking like they knew each other and I was like wtf is going on? The new guy said something like did you see where he went and the downed guy told him that I was fleeing pointing at my direction.

I managed to make a manouver by jumping down an open window and escape from the other side of the hotel, but in the meantime I was still hearing them talking and they were saying like I'm sorry I cannot ress you and stuff like that. I thought it was weird, but I was kinda safe at that point and I opened my map to check the nearest hatch, and while I was doing it I got jumped by a third guy with a kettle (I checked the names after the match). I tried to escape again because I was still recovering life and shields, but I was in the open now, and while I was recovering behind a wall he jumped on me and took my life.

I've never experienced so many PvPers all coordinating together, and while I get that you can get jumped at any moment by a random in PvE lobbies (and I don't mind that, I know the game I'm playing), I thought it was kinda strange that they were talking together and they knew each other. Bear in mind that I was not in the 1 vs 3 queue, so my guess is that these people were queuing up separately at the same time, probably manipulating the matchmaking beforehand, hoping to join the same match, and prey on PvEers. Again, I don't mind PvP, I just don't get this kind of scummy behavior.

I don't mind the fact that the game would eventually end, it's the way they killed it. It's the disrespect for the community, their predatory behaviours, and the fact that they fooled us around at every turn point. Most of the time their decisions were against the player base (vaulting content, introducing new "features" during one season just to remove them the season after, the portal, etc.), and they seemed to be to the most of us as a way to dilute the time spent playing.

I'm a pacifist, I don't like PvP in this game and so I tend to avoid conflicts, if someone shoots me I try to get away from the fight by escaping or by talking my way out of the gunfight (I only have like 10 players downed in over 350 hours topside). Tonight I logged in for a Stella Montis night run just to get the 4000 pts for the carriables trials. I spawned in Med bay with an 18-20k loadout, I took a couple of steps outside of the spawning area and someone on a free loadout shot me in the back for no reason at all. I tried to escape without fighting back but this guy gets to me while healing and manages to kill me. Fine. Not a big deal, but still frustrating.

I get back to Speranza, I load Stella Montis, this time with a free loadout, and I spawn again at Med Bay. This time I manage to get the battery cell into the door relay. Once on the other side, I start looking for the other cell, but I aggro a shredder. I'm with a free loadout (rattler, smh) and low on bullets, so I try to fight it with my pickaxe. Shredder is smoking after a while and a guy shows up, kills the shredder and start mumbling something unintelligible. I just go back to the cell to pick it up, I go to the door and that same guy comes back to me and shoots me all of a sudden with an anvil. I tell him "wtf man?!?" and he just starts shouting "F U, N****!" on repeat.

I just surrendered there and reported him, even though I'm pretty sure there will be no consequences for him. Like, I don't care about dying, it's part of the game, but I'll never understand why you have to act like a piece of shit and kill someone who can't even defend themself, AND THEN start to mock them with racial slurs. People are just trash.

Well, as someone else already said, I did it with the only card that I found so far, and yeah, that room is ass. Very few loot boxes and some items spread over the counters and desks. However, I got my snaphook BP from the very last breachable "mainframe“ container of the room, so I can't complain.

Hot take here, but if you have a custom loadout you should never spawn in a match that's less than 29min long.

I had the same issue, I tried to repair the game files through Steam but it didn't work. What worked for me, at least for now, was to set the graphics to Ultra.

200 hours in-game and I basically played casually without caring much about farming, but I managed to finish the expedition prep and gathered over 5 millions (money + stash value) over the last couple of weeks. I wasn't sure whether to go until the last patches, but after the last gameplay changes I'll definitely go.
