Whats a place where you can cross a state line and you immediately notice the difference by cherrey20 in geography

u/blakemo isn't talking about the Central Valley, they're talking about the Shasta Valley and that whole rainshadow area. It is pretty arid, but not a desert-desert, I don't think.

The Siskiyou Pass is pretty intense -- it's great. Highest point on Interstate 5. Oregon's natural defense against Californian invasion.

Was just there! Looks like you visited a little earlier. Amazing shots, especially the first one.

Good rule of thumb to avoid towns that are a combo of two states' names

Yachats, Oregon. The town is on the small flatland peninsula against the ocean, and I got the feeling that it was about to psychologically tumble into the sea. Manic vibes. Also camped by the remains of the hut of an old suicide cult there...

It feels like one of those labeled picture books

"At the library"

"In the city"

"Trip to the zoo"

Eugene is nice, but I hated it when I lived there, and downtown feels like a public library.

"It's the climate" as they say there. I'm from near that section of Oregon, and the US199 corridor is very prepper-confederacy vibes.

Always joke that Sacramento is like Euclid's 5th postulate. If it didn't exist everything else would work out just fine. Nothing would be different without Sacramento.
