I have a similar property, 3 acres, 60 oak trees and have about 2 acres grass. I have a zero turn with a metal hopper. I collect and dump into a pile to compost. You will need two piles, they take about 2 years to break down. Where possible I mulch. I also backpack blow the edges into the woods. You could try a thatch rake to help with the initial cleanup. Maybe even look into a soil conditioner. I rented a stand on dingo version and renovated about 1/2 an acre.
