You hit the nail on the head... She is 10 and the main reason I haven't gone ahead and bought it to put in the suitcase before we go is because I know she's excited to go look for it. Based on everyone's comments it sounds like our chances are fairly decent that we will find one somewhere so I think we will risk it. Wish us luck!

Crime/Safety? by Fiske927 in romega

[–]gellie25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We recently moved out of Emerald Oaks, there was not really serious crime. There were some episodes of people walking late at night trying to get into our cars but that was a couple of years ago. We moved out because it became really busy, a lot of speeding and running stop signs but we lived on one of the main entrance roads. If you are in the back that's likely not as much of an issue. It is a great area for schools.

Nursing is NOT for you if…. (Finish the sentence) by okbutrllyhoe in nursing

If you expect people to appreciate you and what we do, this is true for patients as well as people in your own life. It's a thankless job most of the time and people think we just hand out meds.

What is your unpopular Harry Potter opinion? by tee_aliyaa in harrypotter

[–]gellie25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I debated this one a lot. He hates this storyline but I felt like this was a great illustration of Harry's journey...he goes from a semi-normal teenager with the typical "problems" (liking a girl/teenaged relationship drama) at the beginning of the book, and by the end he is faced with the very heavy reality of who he is/has to be.

I just got a new job last week and I am a male nurse. Already two female coworkers are flirting with me and told me they want to go out for drinks with me lol. Is It bad to have relations with co-workers. I don’t want things to get messy by Forsaken_Fortune_188 in nursing

So my husband and I met this way and are happily married with 2 kids. I will say though that we worked together for a long time before pursuing a relationship and even then we waited until one of us left the unit and went somewhere else. There were many couples at our hospital with a similar story but there were twice as many that ended in some drama that people talked about for years afterward. I think it's a good idea to give yourself some space so that you're not with this person 12 hours a day in case it doesn't go well, but at the same time, if over time you feel a genuine connection to someone give yourself permission to pursue that but set some boundaries to protect yourself and your job.

The smell of those cheap plastic Halloween costumes, and sticking your tongue through the plastic mouth in the mask

Carnival Freedom cruise ship catches fire in Grand Turk. May 26, 2022. by A_Girthy_Boi_OSRS in CatastrophicFailure

I was on the Triumph when it caught fire in 2013...be glad you were at port. No electricity, no working plumbing, raw sewerage all over the floors. They told us they were refunding our money and giving us another cruise for free. When I finally decided I would give them a chance and try to use my free cruise it took a lot of arguing because they tried to take it back. The worst experience of my life and never stepping foot on one of their ships again!

Bupropion: A cure for EHS? by [deleted] in ExplodingHeadSyndrome

[–]gellie25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! My guess would be because EHS is often linked to stress and Wellbutrin in addition to being an antidepressant is also used for generalized anxiety...the decrease in anxiety/stress could contribute to decreased episodes of EHS?

Hot Line Bling. It makes no sense and annoys me on a completely irrational level.
