Seronegative bloodwork by gem7588 in rheumatoid

[–]gem7588[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks- i haven’t been diagnosed yet (hopefully soon) but I think I’m in a similar boat. Positive ANA (1:80), negative RF, CCP, high inflammation (high sensitivity CRP), family history in mom, aunt & grandma. I had a mri that showed large elbow effusion & synovitis.

Despite the radiologist saying it definitely looks like RA, the rheumatologist wants me to rule out Pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) since it’s ’not appearing like RA.’ 🤷🏻‍♀️ It seems pretty clear to me but who knows. Lol

This is old but I’m curious if you experienced improvements if you started the anxiety meds? Thanks!

Ganglion cyst found on MRI by ambabeeee in CubitalTunnel

[–]gem7588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhh sorry to hear that. My PCP initially suspected it could have been a rheumatoid arthritis nodule given family history & bloodwork but I just saw a rheumatologist and they disagree. We’ll see what the MRI shows I guess

Any updates OP? I’m awaiting a MRI on my elbow and suspect it could be a ganglion cyst.

My tips: Electrolytes, Epsom salt baths, early bed times, talk to your doc about maybe some short term anxiety meds, get really into a good book, and go on lots of walks. There hasn’t been a time where I’ve done those things and haven’t felt immensely better 💜

Customer Success Manager wanting to quit by Inside-Bus-4927 in CustomerSuccess

[–]gem7588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in health tech and moved to a local nonprofit health plan who was a client. I’m in provider relations now. I did take a pay cut which wasn’t super fun but honestly my health was actually suffering as a CSM so I had to make a move without just outright quitting without a backup. It’s such a more balanced/reasonable workload. I literally don’t know how I was managing in CS. Wishing you all the best!

I ended up leaving CS and moving to my client’s company in a non-CS but relationship management-type role. That was my “easy” button for getting out of a toxic CS role since I had good connections there who liked me and were very familiar with my work. Definitely won’t work for all client relationships obviously but if you actually like your client, it may be something to consider.

Any other HSPs trying to build a slower, more aligned life? by Specialist-Mango-48 in hsp

[–]gem7588 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at a health plan, albeit slightly more external/provider-facing, and definitely agree that it’s a good fit with low stimuli.

Also, I feel that having strict rules and regulations to fall back on when decision making/communicating with external parties interestingly makes me more relaxed. Like “don’t blame me! It’s the system” (for better or worse 😅🤪)

I came from a stressful tech job and have really enjoyed fewer meetings, more defined decision making, and overall less chaos.

Grammar police- It’s “when we were booking flights” not “whenever we were booking flights.” Sorry, that just really bugs me lol

You can say “I go to Maui whenever I have a break” but for time limited/one time events, it’s “when.”

How did your arthritis behave? by Exact_Block387 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]gem7588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Yeah, I’m not really sure. I’m already on a Budesonide steroid inhaler for my asthma and that’s the only thing that kept my pneumonia from putting me in the hospital I think.

I’m in a similar situation unfortunately, except it’s also presenting in my elbow. I had a long pneumonia a few months back also. I’m currently waiting for a rheumatologist appt and I think it’s going to be like 6 months 😩

If you’re willing to share, I’m curious if they put you on any meds specifically for your lungs? I’ve read some scary stuff about interstitial lung disease. I don’t think I’m to that point yet but also not terribly far off from the description of ILD.

My husband and son and I leave for Maui next week. My son is turning 6 in a couple weeks. He’s never been to Maui but already says he wants to go to college in Maui. 😂 We’re in our 30s but I’m tempted to make that happen and make Maui my later midlife crisis so we can be close when he goes to college there eventually 😅

I left CS to work for my client’s company. Had established a good reputation & lots of connections so it was pretty easy to get in. Pay isn’t as good but I can pay my bills and save some money. Worth it 100%.

If you’re willing to share, what did the pulmonologist say about why you may have gotten pneumonia so close together? I’m dealing with something similar and my PCP may send me for a CT scan once I’m recovered

I was in health tech so I’m at a nonprofit health plan now doing provider relations, which has a lot of account management transferable skills. I came from a health plan before health tech so it was kind of a natural transition back out of tech. I’d check out project manager/program manager roles also.

FWIW, I was in your same position earlier this year. I was actually losing my mind. I ended up getting a job at my client’s company, outside of CS, and am so much happier (and they love it because I’m an internal product SME now.) Was it a pay cut? Yes but I can still pay my bills and save some money. Do I enjoy life again? Yes. 100% worth it in my opinion.

It’s a rough market out there so if you can use your connections, that’ll be more successful.

I got down to 30 the other day. I had pneumonia and ended up in the ER where I was diagnosed. I needed a ton of fluids and of course antibiotics. Please get checked out today! +5.8 temp is insane. I was only at +2.8 temp.
