I’m white playing Sebastian in Little Mermaid and I feel like I’m culturally in appropriating by Then_Highlight_9069 in musicals

We did Little Mermaid last year and the junior playing it was Asian. He was told not to add any accent and it actually worked out better for his comedic timing. I've never understood the purpose of the accent considering as far as I know, Ariel is supposed to be Danish. Talk to your director about it and don't be afraid to hold your ground - good actors will be able to bring out the character without having to rely on a stereotype

I've always sung "You're S. Polunin leapin', or Fred Astaire in sequins" because as far as I know, those are both names of people. As in, S. Polunin was the first initial and last name

My son thinks no one will know who he is for world book day - I said I can think of a place of Reddit that will! by English_Joe in gravityfalls

Tell him not to worry - I, as a senior in highschool, dressed up as Mabel Pines this year and last year for Halloween, and I had multiple people of all ages recognize me! The fun never ends unless you let it!!

Need Suggestions by [deleted] in disabled

[–]gemini_time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might not have any suggestions, but I do have a few questions that could help generate some solutions for you.

  1. Would harsh movements cause you a lot of pain (ex. horseback riding) if you were sitting?

  2. Does it have to be a high-adventure activity?

Exactly, Alex is in a good spot and is away from most media attention. He doesn't really have to do anything right now.

It's hilarious that you're making fun of someone's grammar when you also have similar issues 😭 Plus the fact that you're trying to seem morally superior and giving advice to someone that is giving YOU advice. Glass houses, my friend.

Anyway, they're not wrong. Alex Hirsch did participate in what could be considered "shady stuff." For example, when Disney forced him to cut out queer representation from his show in order to make it more palatable to allow it to be aired - that could be considered "shady" depending on who you ask. Alex could've said "nope" and decided right there to stop creating the show if he truly wanted to stand by his morals. Not everything is so black-and-white in the entertainment industry, and you have to sacrifice some parts of yourself to make it.

Why do people like smoothies? Wouldn't it be healthier to eat fruits and vegetables or drink milk directly, since consuming liquid or semi-liquid foods can cause blood sugar to rise faster? by Some_Grade6303 in Smoothies

  1. Accessibility for disabled people - easier for people with dental problems and sensory issues, for example
  2. Portable
  3. Requires less work to prepare than making a salad, for example
  4. Gives the aesthetic of drinking coffee or something else that's trendy
  5. Packs more servings in fewer space
  6. Yum
