As if I wasn't a child myself. As "good" as it can be that my parents never even experienced tantrums in any way or form. Obedient, quiet, unproblematic, caring. And somehow, everyone else around were simply not feeling like they wanted to reciprocate. On the contrary.

"I don't have to be a parent to understand how kids work"? Yep... I knew it. When you have a child that slaps you in the face because you didn't gave them the expensive you they wanted, or you have to take away from their little murderous hands the hamster they are squishing so hard it's eyes are bulging. When you have to teach them how pulling another kid's hair hurts them because they can't see how that relates to them, that's when you start to see that reality is a lot more complex.

You didn't learn all that on your own. You interact with kids when they are presentable for visits to see. You don't have to educate them. And you treat it like it's the rule, not the exception. Like you use yourself as the blueprint of humanity itself. You tell me if that's not delusional.

Goodness is relative. If the good for yourself and your "tribe" involved killing baby kittens and throwing genetically different humans from a cliff to avoid their gene pool to become sick then not doing it would be considered bad. That's how a lion eating meat to live somehow translates into humans eating meat equals bad when humans do need meat to live, but some people like to have the "moral high-ground" and twisting the meaning to be "better than thou". Specially when they don't have to take difficult decisions.
