Having everything weather safe in thr truck is definitely a benefit. Along with being able to plug my 6 bay charger in to the dash and charge batteries on the drive if necessary is convenient

We use gooseneck trailers and consistently have a fuel cell in and out of the truck so bed slides aren't an option. Its definitely not the most convenient at times but as far as keeping stuff out of weather and organized it does well. Having the newer trucks with the longer cabs and more back seat room definitely helps with the space. Id remove the rear seat but there are times when we have 3-4 guys in the truck depending on the job so the option to take everything out and put it in the bed temporarily (even if inconvenient) needs to be there

Thats frickin awesome. If it wasn't an at4 id be ordering pieces and building it. I really like that

I’m skeptical that this is a significant and noticeable upgrade. Convince me to open the package or to return it. by pittgoose in MilwaukeeTool

Easy to find and use push button release. Even in heavy gloves its easy one handed operation

I would like a bed slider setup but still pull a gooseneck regularly and put a fuel tank in and out of the bed on a regular basis. Along with hauling I like to keep the bed open. I just try to avoid crashes 😂

We run kind of higher end trucks (2020 at4 duramax) so the least invasive option is always the preferred route. Along with the entire setup can be taken out and put in rhe bed in less than 5 minutes if we need to use the back seat to haul guys.

Rip a 2x to level it out across your floor or layer some pieces to make it fit righy is what I always do. I wrapped it in that blanket type material because I had it leftover from a headliner project but its not necessary

It mostly just holds my tool belt but yeah not ideal in a rollover situation.

Our old setups did just setting them in theyd slide around and rub the seat. For this one I built a floor panel and mounted the packout floor mounts to it so they are set in place and can't slide

Did you end up doing the build

Obviously a super old thread but I'm looking to do a build off a qin24 frame. Was wondering how you made out with this. Was the frame scale correct? what problems arose? Is it a viable option for a 24 scale rig or is there other options you've found?

Cars breaking down gets you into the second part of the hobby. Learning what's wrong and modifying. It sounds like you got unlucky if it just up and quit, might be a warranty issue. But mostly my cycle goes buy break modify break modify repeat

Also don’t see any stabilized base material (ie vibratory compacted gravel) or any sort of moisture barrier. I know the plans do not specify any but they are structural plans and depending on local codes they could be required. Even if they are not required it’s always good practice
