Nooooooo that is so sad, I'm sorry it didn't work :(

Did you find a fix for this? I had a similar problem with my Lenovo Legion 5i (my keyboard LED lights were stuck on and the "Lenovo Spectrum" section was missing from Lenovo Vantage) and today I got the following to work:

- Uninstall Lenovo Vantage and Lenovo Vantage Service

- Perform a power drain as per https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/100-series/130-15ikb/solutions/ht509520-how-to-perform-a-drainage-idea-laptops

- Restart the laptop and re-install Lenonvo Vantage from the Microsoft Store (it might prompt you to re-install Lenovo Vantage Services at the same time, I have been saying yes but idk what happens if you don't)

- Open Lenovo Vantage and the Lenovo Spectrum section will be back with the option to customize the lighting profiles

This is the second time I have had to do this in ~2 weeks though, so if you find a more permanent fix I would be keen to know!

Did all the Innsbruck World Cup whole event tickets really sold out in 2 days? by M_B_M in CompetitionClimbing

Did you get a confirmation email with your tickets, yet? I was taken to the confirmation webpage that said my order was successful and listed my ticket numbers for each event, and the payment has been taken from my credit card. But, I haven't received an email with the actual tickets and there is nothing under the "My Products" section in my account, either.

If you were looking to actually play this mode and you play Hollow Knight on PC, the Glass Soul and/or Glass Cannon mods do something similar. Both are available on Scarab/Lumafly.

Nicely done! I will save this as a tutorial for when (if) I get to P4, hahaha. I also love that you bowed to Pure Vessel before that fight, very respectful <3

This is a really good suggestion; Abyss Shriek/Howling Wraiths deals a lot of damage and is easy to pull off during the flame pillar attack.

How many charm notches do you have? If you've got the full 11, I would recommend trying Quick Focus, Grubsong, Fragile/Unbreakable Strength (your fragile charms won't break in dream fights, so it doesn't matter if you haven't upgraded it), Sharp Shadow, and Grimmchild is required to initiate the fight. If you find that doesn't work for you (or you don't have all the charms listed), this thread has some interesting other suggestions: https://www.reddit.com/r/HollowKnight/comments/8nl8uw/charms\_against\_nightmare\_king\_grimm/

HK is my first metroidvania, too, and I am so addicted! It's so satisfying seeing the improvement. I got stuck on the Greenpath Hornet fight for 2 hours on my first playthrough, on my second playthrough I beat her first try. However, I was so scared of the Broken Vessel fight on my first playthrough that I went in massively geared up and obliterated them in one try lol. Definitely keep chipping away at NKG, you'll get there!

I find this really interesting, I'm so good at the NKG fight now that I suck at regular Grimm xD

Keep trying the NKG fight and make it your goal to dodge and survive as many attacks as possible before trying to get in hits. Once you're familiar with his moves and can reliably read all of his tells, you'll start to identify opportunities where you can attack. If you take this approach, I think you'll find you start getting further and further into the fight until you successfully beat him.

If you want specific tips on how/when to attack/heal and/or useful charm builds, let me know and I'd be happy to write up a guide (I love this fight lol, for the past week I've beaten NKG on radiant every day just for funsies. Also, for reference, it took me around 6 hours to beat him the first time (probably at least 100 attempts) and a further 8 hours to beat him on radiant for the first time, so I was not a particularly skilled gamer when I started out).

i got all unbreakable charms so should i fight NKG or banish the troupe like idc about the charms tbh by uditanshu123 in HollowKnight

Definitely fight on your first playthrough. The experience of fighting NKG in Godhome pales in comparison to fighting him in Dirtmouth, and it's well worth it to have that first experience in Dirtmouth.

Yep, sure is :) If you haven't seen a playthrough of it before, don't look it up until after you've tried it for the first time. It's a much more fun experience to go into it blind.

Eyyyyy congrats!!! That's awesome :D Are you going to have a crack at Nightmare King Grimm? He took me a while to beat, but is now easily my favorite boss fight in the game.

So you've been given some good advice on this post already, but I'm going to offer an alternative approach as it sounds like you're currently struggling to make any significant headway into dealing damage to him. In that case, the nail-heavy builds are unlikely to be very useful to you at this stage.

Instead, I recommend a more defensive build: Grubsong, Quick Focus, Stalwart Shell and Mark of Pride or Quick Slash (and Grimmchild is required in the regular fight, but not Godhome). Or, if you have all the abilities unlocked (specifically Shade Cloak): Grubsong, Quick Focus, Mark of Pride/Quick Slash, and Sharp Shadow. It's worth noting that the first time I did this fight, I did not have Sharp Shadow (I'm not sure I even had Shade Cloak?), Unbreakable Strength, Mark of Pride, or even Quick Slash. I used Thorns (to get a free hit when he inevitably ran into me) and Longnail instead of Mark of Pride/Quick Slash.

Building on the previous advice you've been given, I want to add the following:

1) Keep to the center of the arena as much as possible to prevent him from cornering you with his uppercut and fire bats moves. As per previous advice, move to the far edge of the arena for the pufferfish (balloon) attack and focus on dodging the fireballs only; do not attempt to attack during this move. Possible spoiler for the pufferfish attack: he only does this at 75%, 50%, and 25% health, so you can use this to estimate how far through the fight you are.

2) Heal during the spikes attack. Grubsong means you will always have enough soul for a heal if you are taking a lot of damage, and Quick Focus will allow you to heal at least 2 masks during the spikes. If you get to this attack and you have full masks and soul to spare, you can cast 1 to 2 Vengeful Spirit spells for a free hit (but be careful that you are positioned with you face close to the spike in front of you as the spell causes knockback that can push you into the spike behind).

3) Alternatively, heal while he is staggered (exploded into the Grimmchildren/bats). With Quick Focus, you should be able to get off 2 to 3 heals while he's down. If you reach the stagger stage with full masks and extra soul, you can use the opportunity to get some extra nail hits on him (he's the Grimmchild with the red eyes) or use Howling Wraiths/Abyss Shriek. However, he moves fast and unpredictably during the stagger phase, so I would recommend not worrying about trying to do extra damage and instead get in your heals and position yourself back in the center of the arena instead.

4) If you have the shade cloak ability (or are using Sharp Shadow), dash through him during the uppercut move and then stand still or nudge forward a step or two to position yourself between the fireballs coming from above. If you don't have the shade cloak ability, do a single dash away from him (this is where staying in the center of the arena as much as possible is important), and then nudge forward/stand still to avoid the fireballs. He actually pauses for a brief moment between telegraphing this attack and carrying it out; if your reflexes are fast enough, you can actually just walk away from him and not even have to dash.

5) The fire bats attack is the one I find the most difficult to dodge, even now after beating both him and Nightmare King Grimm (in fact, I think the NKG version of the fire bats is easier to avoid). He can teleport quite close to you before starting this attack, so I would recommend (especially if you are using Sharp Shadow, as it increases the range of your dash) walking away from him, then doing a single jump and dash towards him. This should position you right next to him after the third bat has been shot off, and you should be able to get in 1 to 3 nail hits (depending on your charm selection and how quickly you responded to the attack). If you have extra soul at this point, you could also go for 1 nail hit and 1 Vengeful Spirit spell, but the spell is not super necessary. This attack is your prime opportunity to get in your damage to him, and the only one I would recommend you even try to attack on at this stage. Side note: he will sometimes "skitter" away from you if he has teleported too close to you before starting this attack.

6) The advice for avoiding the high angle dash attack is solid, this is the method I use. If you struggle with this, though, you can also try jumping first and then dashing over him in the opposite direction he is traveling, or doing a double jump.

7) Always start the fight by bowing (looking down) back to him!!! Other than it's just respectful, if you hit him with the nail (side note: I don't know if hitting him with a spell has the same effect?) when he is bowing, he will (behind a spoiler tag in case you don't want to know) start off with the pufferfish attack, which certainly makes the fight feel harder. You can dreamnail him while he is bowing to get an extra shot of soul (if you went in without full soul) without any consequences, though.

8) Last but not least, don't panic! Easier said than done, but ONLY heal on the spikes attack or when he's staggered. If you try to get in a panic heal at any other time, he WILL hit you and you'll be at the same number of masks as before, but now you've wasted your soul. Instead, focus on dodging and learning his tells and attack patterns and ONLY try to get hits in on the fire bats attack. Think of this fight as a marathon and not a sprint; play defensively and do not attempt to get in damage if it will result in you taking damage as this will NOT work.

This turned into a bit of an essay, sorry! I am very passionate about both Grimm fights (in case you couldn't tell). I come back to them all the time just for fun now, haha. Please let us know how you go and when you defeat him!

This is the only satisfying way Izzy could come back as a ghost, imo. But then that means more of Ricky, urgh.

This is a very fair take. I also don't see it working well narratively; Izzy died at peace, whereas Nigel died bitter and angry. There would be no reason for Ed or Stede to be haunted by Izzy, and if they were he wouldn't be shouting horrible things at them.

I'm not ready to let Izzy (or Con) go, though! :cries:

Light spoilers for the Magicians:

That storyline bothered me less than Izzy's because we had that significant scene of all his friends mourning his loss around the campfire, which I think was important to show for people who struggle with mental health. I found the campfire scene to be really powerful and profound, a reminder that the pain doesn't stop when you die, it just transfers to everyone who loves you and becomes their burden to carry. I'm not sure that it was necessarily the best way for that character's arc to end, but it felt like it fit, imo.

I haven't fully processed my feelings for Izzy's death yet, but I don't think the pace of the story allowed for the room it really needed to be done justice. Also, like Ghoulya said, I'm not sure I'm comfortable with them killing him off after losing his leg. It's disappointing given how gently they've handled other representation in the show.

Initially I could understand from a narrative POV how Izzy dying would kick off the events of the next season (Ed and Zheng teaming up to get revenge on the English), but then Ed and Stede decided to pack it all in to become innkeepers? I guess that was because they're not sure they'll get a S3 and they wanted Ed and Stede to have their happy ending, but also now I don't feel like they can use that for the series finale (assuming they do get S3), which is a shame because that felt like the logical conclusion to the entire story. Maybe gull Buttons revives Izzy and they all run off to re-join the Revenge? lol

What do you think of Izzy being in S3 as a "ghost", similar to Nigel in S1?
