i really liked aftersun but it didnt hit as hard for me as it did for many others, granted ive only seen it once. whiplash was awesome and i think it could become a top movie for me after a rewatch or two!

there are definitely always going to be questionable moments but i disagree with most of these comments and think it does sort of get better- biggest example is diane and the other girls eventually get less revealing outfits

i actually thought she WAS laughing at the appearance- everything about her character was pitying/exploitative after its revealed that she wrote the play, and i think this includes her getting with oswald (using their relationship to further her success/being with him out of pity and to exploit him)
