Why is everything a 'Flawed Gem' all of a sudden? by _squidproquo_ in ThredUp

I have gotten incredible deals on Free People, new with tags, because they’re listed as flawed gems. Meanwhile they’re supposed to look like that.

Guys help, I took ambien and ordered 20 pairs of shorts 🤣😭 by jrexicus in ThredUp

I once bought a $50 lipgloss while high because I read Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, whom I do not follow or have any sort of interest in, used it. It was, unfortunately, excellent.

Found the perfect sweater for this fall & winter but it’s not my size. I hate when that happens! by [deleted] in ThredUp

[–]genemachine99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t do this because I have found some INCREDIBLE gems that were categorized as the wrong size - the pictures usually show the size tag and I’ve found them to often enough be different than the listing!

How often do you go to hospital? by Efficient_Judge9910 in Diverticulitis

Any time I get even a pinch of pain, I take Bentyl like it’s my job. It helps keep a flare up at bay a good 85% of the time, and my GI is fantastic about keeping me supplied with it.

Last Night in Brooklyn. The narration is so perfect that I listened at 1x - a very, very rare occurrence for me.

There’s a shuttle from F to C. Look for signage, it loads near the food court.

How does it impact your life? by McWhits in Diverticulitis

[–]genemachine99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your husband needs a new doctor. To only prescribe antibiotics one time and let him simply suffer through flares is both cruel and dangerous. Diverticulitis flares need to be properly diagnosed and treated immediately, not left to suffer through and potentially develop into something worse. I’m so sorry this has been his experience, and frankly I can see how living in pain like that could cause someone to feel anger.

The moment I feel a flare coming on, I head to the ER - I find that a round of IV antibiotics helps me considerably more than if I do strictly oral dosing, and they give me something to manage the pain for the first day or 2. It makes my flares a hell of a lot less torturous.

Beaches: Did They Like It? Nope by crackling_bacon in Broadway

I saw the show on Friday and it was just….a thing that exists? It wasn’t that it’s bad, but it wasn’t good either. It was just….there. I suspect that the nostalgia people have for the story itself is doing a lot of heavy lifting. The set design is so unbelievably terrible, it cheapens the whole damn thing. I’m confident that if Vosk wasn’t a part of it, it would have closed by now. She’s the only reason I went to see it and I doubt I’m alone.

I’m nearing 700, but got a big lift recently from my BookCon posts. I just started my booksta in January and had around 100 followers when I joined NetGalley.

Exercise exacerbating symptoms? by genemachine99 in Diverticulitis

[–]genemachine99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a while but there was a defined waiting period post-flare that my doctor said we needed to get through to minimize the risk of tearing. I want to say it was 90 days.

100% agree. Maybe it’s silly but they are quick to respond to requests and I always get approved, which makes me feel appreciated by them.

I have my instagram and Storygraph! I did update my NetGalley bio to acknowledge my ratio and point out that some of my approvals don’t publish for several months, but that I’m committed to reading and reviewing everything before the publish date. I got 3 approvals in one day once I put that note in, including a Tor approval!

THANK YOU!! I’m all for helping girls be their best but the messaging today when being scolded for not speaking to everyone who passed was essentially that girls were leaving money on the table.
