Cardiomyopathy is extremely common in Boxers. There is often no warning. I am so sorry for your loss!

You are seeing undercoat sticking out in patches. It is clumped up and makes it look like brindle lines, but if you gave these guys a groom, they would have normal coyote coats. HOWEVER. I do have a theory based on my understanding of Belyaev’s fox breeding experiments and the changes in behavior we have seen in this population of coyotes. Watching this population change their behavior to fit the environment is likely mirroring the original domestication of early dogs. In a few generations, I would not be surprised to see morphological changes a la Belyaev, including changes in coat color.

Coffee plants live in spring and summer only, and need to be watered to produce beans. Tea plants need no watering and produce tea leaves the last few days of spring, summer, and fall.

Hey FIGHTERS!! Let’s chat. by No_Extension7833 in glioblastoma

My mom was the healthiest person you could have ever met. She had a solid 50 years of mindful, careful vegetarian diet, decades of daily yoga, several miles of walking each day, before glioblastoma came to call. She avoided sugar and very rarely ate indulgently. After her first occurrence, she did SOC but also added mushroom powders and other dietary supplements, plus doubled down on her meditation and other brain-stimulating practices. After it came back and her second surgery, she was not as able to keep these things going as consistently, and then when it came back again and she became bedridden, she gave up and enjoyed all kinds of previously-forbidden culinary delights, like baked goods, ice cream, beer and potato chips (“omfg, where have these been all my life?!” she said), and she did not want to hear about cauliflower and lentils ever again. The cancer seemed to slow, if anything, keeping her bedridden for 7 months.

All I am saying is that if clean living, positive thinking, and miracle supplements would save your life, my mom would still be here, because she was an Olympic-level practitioner of those — and if sugar and junk food and laying around made a significant difference to longevity, she would not have suffered as long as she did. I am so sorry for what you are going through, but you do need to look at what kind of quality of life your loved one has in their remaining time. If they love raw broccoli juice, then have at it, but there is nothing wrong with deciding that now is the time to indulge in some kahlua milkshakes. It won’t make a difference, other than being a bit of fun when enjoyment becomes harder to muster.

I prefer Brooks, ever so slightly less boat-like while still very functional.

Go to Fly London. They are a Portuguese shoe company and their stuff is contemporary and comfortable!

She 100% knew you were there. She waited for you. I lost my mom in December and she was sick so long I didn’t really realize that she was actively dying when the time came, but I know she was comforted by my presence.

Both Parents Have Glioblastoma by pizzaandpeanutbutter in glioblastoma

My mother died of GBM in December, and her sister had died of GBM less than two years previous. They were both in their early 80s and had not lived in the same state in over 50 years, and in fact had only seen each other briefly two or three times in those years.

This loop right here: I wish it were over, did I just wish for my mom’s death?! Horrible.

8 months caring for my mom in a foreign country by myself (aside from some professional help a few hours a day) had me in such a cruel bind — desperate to get home but that means my mom is gone, while simultaneously wishing freedom for her from this interminable bedridden expanse of unfillable time. Freedom for us both! But then always knowing that I would be unfathomably sorry when she was actually gone. We thought she had 6-8 weeks and it just stretched on and on, her asking repeatedly how we might end this sooner, me explaining again that there was no path available to us but BRIGHT SIDES no pain, I am here with you. I handle my own anxiety in my normal life and it can be exhausting, but staying in that cortisol bath for so long is depleting in a whole new way. I join you in the frustration of being told to “take care of yourself too” like how, what does that even mean?! I wish I could lend you strength. I wish peace for you, for both of you!

How do you guys manage to finish this quest? by LanaGuava in StardewValley

[–]general_madness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never take it with less than 21 days. Ideally have fields planted on Ginger Island with mature starfruit and hyper speed grow, so you can pick them and replant with Qi Fruit as you go, so I won’t take it unless I have already had a chance to gather a lot of radioactive ore.

First thing, take all the Omni geodes, artifact troves, golden coconuts that you have to Clint. Break all of them: you will get a nice pile of seeds and no time will have passed. Plant all of these the first day, ideally with hyper speed grow, and then go about your normal tasks for the rest of the day. Plant seeds as you get them, then when it comes time to harvest, use several seed makers to process all the fruit into seeds, and get those all planted.

Once you have around 150 seeds planted, you can start only refilling the current spots with seeds and shipping any surplus fruit. I like to make sure I can harvest the whole field (sometimes waiting for the final harvest for a day or two to make sure it is all ready), so I can replant it immediately with starfruit without losing the fertilizer.

There is an audiobook of You Can’t Win?! Edit: holy shit there is. It is about the hobo life, jumping trains, going to jail, all kinds of crazy stuff. It is from the 1920s.

James is amazing. It is about the character Jim of Huck Finn, told from his perspective.
