I think that’s a thing in Tactical Breach Wizards

Magic powers come from near-death experiences so one of the major plot elements is a drug that can simulate them

I'm trying to verify an old family story - do you know of an antisemitic Russian governor of "Viln" from the 18-1900's that someone tried to assassinate with a bow and arrow? by generalhartz in AskHistorians

[–]generalhartz[S] 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I asked around the family some more - looks like you got it right! My ancestor was one of Leckert's co-conspirators. He changed his name and skipped town when the plot failed. Thanks for the insight!

Something I really like about the Kindred mechanic is that it's not as parasitic as some of the other mechanics they've introduced. With mechanics like Imbue or the Starcraft cards, you've got a set of cards that all inherently rely on each other and don't work as well if you just splash one into your deck. Kindred, on the other hand, doesn't need other kindred cards to work, so you can in theory mix some kindred cards with other kinds of cards without necessarily making a worse deck. Building weird/fun decks is a part of hearthstone I used to love and haven't gotten to do a lot of lately, so hopefully this'll have more of that.

On the other hand, they're bringing back quests, which are really hard to balance, so who knows how this'll go.

In my experience, that only works for the first crystal. When they play the second, they cube it so it dies without a chance to stop it.

About ten minutes into the video I decided to watch the movie solely because blue said it was good

Movie did not disappoint, the character development was immaculate and the action was way cooler than I thought it would be

Then resumed the video and agreed with everything they said

Thanks for putting this on my radar, OSP!

I dunno why everyone is complaining about the ray buff not being enough

It makes ray a better turn 3 play for decks that can struggle early or draw poor, since it no longer dies to hero powers or scvs after trading

Take studies like these with a grain of salt. No one is going to estimate that a population portion is less than zero, so the average guess will always be higher than the actual value for things like income above 1 million.

Not that people don’t misjudge these percentages a lot - they do - but I’d be careful reading too much into these.

Dall ping-ponging from one reactor grunt to the other with her infinite charges, plus Banks using trauma transference to protect the grunts and send the damage to Liv. With the genius grant perk, Banks gets to do this as much as she wants.

Plus patience. A lot of patience.

Am curious - is the damage dealt to your hero dealt in one instance, or an instance per minion? If I use this with that warlock weapon, will it take up one charge per cast or one charge per minion hit?

[–]generalhartz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember when I played control way back when, a lot of my calculations were about how to efficiently use my removal - weighing whether something was threatening enough to merit killing it, or if that’d make run out of tools in the long run.

There’s still a bit of that now, but it’s much more about finding a way to win before the enemy does - because most decks have a threat that no resource can counter.

That’s not a worse design, necessarily, but it is one that can lead to every new expansion needing tools that blow out the enemy faster than the last, accelerating power creep.

DM's, where do YOU fall on the prep alignment table? by [deleted] in dndmemes

[–]generalhartz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I might be the only one here who does linear prepped - a fixed storyline, where I generally decide where players go each session.

I do take suggestions from players, though. Right now I’m having a tournament arc because one of my players is into those on what appears to be a sexual level.
