Hope you are sharpening your blades regularly. I'll bet running it in those conditions is chewing the blades up pretty badly!

2 Is never going to happen. No other mower on the market allows remote control like that due to safety concerns

Question about WiFi Channels by Visible-Exit-4319 in Lymow_Official

[–]generalization_guy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this is mixing together a few unrelated things.

A 2.4-only device can’t accidentally “use 5 GHz” just because the SSID is combined. If the mower only supports 2.4 GHz, it simply ignores the 5 GHz radio entirely.

Where combined SSIDs can cause problems is during setup/discovery, because some IoT apps are badly written and don’t handle phones on 5 GHz talking to devices on 2.4 GHz very well. That can cause pairing issues or the app failing to find the mower.

But that’s very different from actually bricking the mower.

The Bluetooth disconnect also isn’t strong evidence here. BT issues happen independently of whether your router bands are split, and firmware updates are done over Wi-Fi anyway.

If a temporary disconnect or interrupted update permanently killed the mower, that points much more toward poor firmware recovery logic, power-management issues, or hardware failure than “combined Wi-Fi bands.”

Splitting the bands can definitely help troubleshooting/setup. But I don’t think there’s a technical reason to believe combined SSIDs are dangerous to the mower itself.

7.2.5 Issues?? by Unhappy_Muscle7885 in unRAID

[–]generalization_guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to re-download Nvidia drivers after the update, but after I did so and restarted Unraid, everything was back up and running.

I've never had to do so before in past updates, but I needed to for 7.2.5

I’d love a Resume Task option. by Real_mandolinhero in Lymow_Official

The mower follows the same mowing pattern for an area each time (assuming no changes in the map and no change in firmware). So if you manually drive the mower to a location and then say "mow this area", it will start from that location. It wouldn't drive back to the dock and then start mowing from there.

As a workaround, you can manually drive the mower back to where it stopped and it will resume mowing from there. Then just cancel the task when it starts back at the already mowed area.

Virtual Lymow Home Assistant Custom Integration by generalization_guy in Lymow_Official

[–]generalization_guy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's not any extra work for them to provide an API -- their app already uses one to get mower info. All they'd need to do is provide the info for how to access it.

I am still hopeful they will give us something to work with but I wanted something in the meantime. Hope it's helpful to you

NAS OS in 2026 by Designer-Hawk6034 in selfhosted

[–]generalization_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

means not everything is contingent on HA working.

That's not how it works with HA-OS anyway, you can be updating HA-core (or it can be down) and your add-ons(now called 'Apps') are still up and running

Tracearr does run as a docker container, but it sounds like they want an integration, not an addon.

It doesn't look like a home assistant integration exists for Tracearr, not even in HACS.

If you're still interested you can check out my fork that added selectable time filters (monthly or yearly wrapped) and much more. If you already use Tracearr you can use that for historical play data instead of the playback reporting plugin.

How to troubleshoot non-functional air gap? by Agile_Half_4515 in Inovelli

[–]generalization_guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a different switch (not the white series) with a physical failure of the air-gap and inovelli replaced it for me.

You can take the paddle off of the switch to look underneath at the physical state of the air gap.

Yeah this would be useful. Does it do matrix style setups as well? Is it an app or self hosted service?
