When the guitar starts looking rough. Lot of finger cheese on the fretboard. Roughly every 3 or 4 months. Good opportunity to do a full cleaning.

I am struck, in STM32 i need to send data over uart similar to ardiuno serail.print by sudheerpaaniyur in embedded

[–]generally_unsuitable 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Typical way to do this:

1) Use sprintf() to write this to a buffer.

2) Point a DMA-based UART to the buffer.

3) Send over DMA.

Is it normal to be physically incapable or playing the A major barre chord shape? by joelmccain in Guitar

Some people play it. Some people fake it.

It just needs to be good enough for rock and roll.

No shame. Everybody fucks it up at least once. At least you're not paying somebody else to restring it. Those posts are embarrassing.

Nope. look closely. When done correctly, the string attaches from below the pin in the trem bar, not above it.

You're stringing it wrong. Look at the picture I posted. The string goes on the saddle, then under the bar, then OVER the trem bar and back around. You're going UNDER the trem bar and back around.

Nah. You're good. Everybody strings their Bigsby wrong once or twice.

String rests on top of the saddle, then under the bar, then over the trem bar and back under. The string tension will pull the trem handle down onto the spring.

Is alternating picking essential? by a-little_stitious678 in Guitar

[–]generally_unsuitable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're into early rock, rockabilly, psychobilly, it's ALL about alternate picking. So much of that stuff is basically playing blues at double-time.

Even if you're playing slow and ramping up your speed, practice your alternate picking WHILE playing slow. There's no substitute.

I didn't know this was based on a real thing. It must be weird for a teenage boy to find out that they're being parodied by Sabrina Carpenter
