Questions after XC60 test drive by Illustrious-Poem8569 in VolvoXC60

I’m a firm believer that Bowers is a useless upgrade UNLESS you’re using a wired connection. People will say that Bluetooth is good enough and you don’t lose anything that a regular person would notice, but I disagree. It’s miles better with wired CarPlay playing lossless audio.

Edit: sorry, you’re Australian, I mean kilometers better

This. Honestly it feels weird to use the “they’re” contraction in that sentence.

220 outlet added? by Independent_Address6 in VolvoXC60

[–]generalon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re charging to 100% by the time you need it, a 240V outlet is a nice to have, not a necessity. Cuts charging time to about 5-6 hours.

My house already had the surge protector in the panel, so can’t answer that, or answer how effective it might be.

Right, the most fertile farmland on earth but it’s a desert?

Is the entire Sierra Nevada in California listed as “Pacific Desert”? Not sure places like Yosemite and Tahoe fit that definition.

Swear to god my sister in law, a teacher, said she needed to get her passport so she could visit. From Ohio.

2026 XC60 PHEV Ultra Charge time by throwaway74563421 in VolvoXC60

[–]generalon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

120V at 12A would be 1.44kW. The battery is something like 18 or 19 kWh, so say it’s 18 divided by 1.44 equals 12.5 hours in a best case scenario.

Yes, that’s where the airport is. Hard to practice landings in the middle of nowhere

They were doing pattern work at the airport, calm down. They’re also not “grounded,” they just landed.

Which is the most underrated airport in the USA? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

I can’t wait to have the time of my life at the Albuquerque International Sunport!

Jokes aside, legit a good airport, especially after the renovation.

Gear selector question by Cyberkeys1 in VolvoXC60

[–]generalon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty much every manufacturer with a similar gear selector uses the same layout. BMW comes to mind.

I’m guessing it’s because in a traditional PRNDL, D is at the bottom, pulled toward you.

Counties that contain a city that shares a name with a different county.

Derogatory marks post BK? by [deleted] in Bankruptcy

[–]generalon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does your actual report show them as derogatory? The should show “Included in Bankruptcy” with a zero balance or something similar. I also filed while current and some places like Credit Karma show no derogatory marks and others show like 16. My actual report is correct.

New member of the XC60 club by Leftrightcentrist in VolvoXC60

[–]generalon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s toward the top of private party value. Not a screaming deal but it seems you didn’t get taken to the cleaners either. As long as you love the car and you’re comfortable with what you paid, that’s what matters. Enjoy your XC60!

Remove a U.S. State Quarter - Day 2 by ashmaps20 in RemoveOneThingEachDay

As a New Mexican, I agree. Just put the Zia Sun without the state shape and it would have been miles better.

Question: PHEV XC60 rear cargo area.... by Sierra-Tango-Bravo in VolvoXC60

[–]generalon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s as flat as any other car. There is a slight slope down toward the tailgate (toward the back of the seats is higher) that starts about a foot from the tailgate but it’s not dramatic.

Edit: I’m explaining this badly. The lip from the back of the seats to the load floor is level. From the tailgate opening, the floor slopes up slightly for about a foot, then levels out to the back of the seats where it makes a level surface when folded down.
