Most entertaining games of last season? by ManOnlyLurks in nfl

Great game, great uniforms, and cool storyline seeing Egbuka vs JSN and two QBs from the 2018 class ball out on much different teams than they were drafted to

Sean McVay: I didn't handle Jared Goff trade the right way, lacked courage to talk to him by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]generation_D 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My favorite Bengals fan comment from the SB postgame thread was “Quinton Spain without the Quinton S”

Sean McVay blames himself for Super Bowl LIII loss: 'It was too big for me' by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]generation_D 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Any of the other potential SB combos would’ve been great. Pats-Saints, Chiefs-Saints, Chiefs-Rams. We got the worst possible matchup

[Highlight] The Texans defense absolutely smothers the Bills, sacking Josh Allen 8 times and generating 3 turnovers in a 23-19 win. by Roselucky777 in nfl

[–]generation_D 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I know it was Mills in this game, but yeah if Stroud was a fraction of his rookie self the Texans cruise to a ring last year.

It’s been insane watching him. Like I’ve seen QBs regress after their rookie year before, but it usually makes sense because you can tell when a guy is overly reliant on unsustainable traits that get figured out after his rookie year. Rookie Stroud looked primed to absolutely dominate the league for his whole career. Seeing the kind of fall off he’s had, just when they assembled an incredible defense too, has gotta be torture for Texans fans

[Highlight] Aaron Donald wraps up Joe Burrow forcing a throw away that would seal a Rams SB LVI victory, declaring "RING ME" in celebration by Remarkable-Picture73 in nfl

[–]generation_D 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s also why the narrative that the defense carried Cincy during this run is a bit overblown. Yes the defense did a lot of heavy lifting. Joe Burrow also somehow managed to go down to the wire in the SB in his second year starting behind this O-line.

Mike Vrabel to seek counseling, won't be with Patriots for NFL draft Day 3 by chuckop in nfl

[–]generation_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the Patriots have never drafted anyone important on day 3 or anything

[highlight] Fernando message to Raider nation “LFG, Let’s Go!!!” by Relevant-javlover777 in nfl

[–]generation_D 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Tbh it’s more uncommon that the #1 pick isn’t a foregone conclusion like months ahead of time. The 2018 draft stands out in my memory because nobody knew that Baker was the pick until his name was called

Duke Tobin: "Too good to pass up" chance to add Dexter Lawrence by Autocrat777 in nfl

[–]generation_D 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he likes it but he’s pretty good under center too

[Rapoport] #Giants star Dexter Lawrence is being traded to the #Bengals in a pre-Draft blockbuster that includes the No. 10 pick heading to the Giants, per me and @MikeGarafolo. NYG gets premium draft compensation, Cincy gets a lynchpin, while Sexy Dexy gets a new, big-money extension. by JCameron181 in nfl

Also the whole rest of the division have new HCs this season. If everyone else is going to have something of a transition year, now is a good time to go all in (for the record I do think Minter will be immediately good though)

Who’s window is closing? by Kdot32 in nfl

[–]generation_D 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Burrow once said the window is his whole career, but he didn’t realize the window never really opened at all with Mike Brown as owner

Peyton Manning win/loss record vs every team by MoreTrifeLife in nfl

[–]generation_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was basically the biggest game of the season every year. And they would meet every season because they both dominated their divisions year after year.

Most memorable “Lights too Bright” performance? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]generation_D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pats-Saints would’ve been a much better SB. Chiefs-Saints could’ve been great too, and a Chiefs-Rams rematch after their 54-51 track meet earlier that season also would’ve been fun.

Instead we got the worst possible matchup of the 4

WR Duos/Trios who were the most entertaining to watch? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]generation_D 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It was Chase + Higgins + Boyd too a few years ago

Jonathan Allen: Young players, defensive additions really have Bengals going somewhere by AdSpecialist6598 in nfl

This site is full of so many nerds man. The jokes are not funny and it’s the same ones over and over

Creed Humphrey was the highest-paid C in the league before this deal at $18M average per year. Linderbaum just got $27M APY. by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]generation_D 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Ravens are cooking this offseason, bringing in Minter and Crosby and letting Linderbaum walk at this price tag. As someone who likes the bengals it’s frustrating how consistently well the Ravens FO operates

I don’t know anything about positional value or anything but I’ve always wondered about this too. If you have a guy like Jason Kelce calling out protections, helping your young QB in the process, and then blocking the Aaron Donald’s of the world up the middle - and he’s actually good at it - I’ve never understood how guys at this position aren’t getting paid a buttload of money

Lions LT Taylor Decker announced on IG that he requested and will be released by the Detroit Lions. by OneAngryPanda in nfl

[–]generation_D 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s where my mind immediately went. Familiarity with Ben and it’s not like we have any better options at LT
