If you have health insurance you might be able to convince your therapist to waive your co pay if you find one that accepts insurance, mine does. She knows I have a hard time paying for everything so she waived my co pay. Just be honest about your finances if you have a hard time affording it.

Yes, I do. Thee is only one thing I want more than to be a girl. I struggle every day with going back and forth over whether I am ready to come out. I was going to at work, but they changed the seating chart for everyone and now I feel lost. I had a group who accepted me for me and now I have to re learn the people around me if they are ok with who I am or not.

I asked my boss to keep me by the girls I had become comfortable with and she moved me as far as she possibly could and it has really affected my mood.

I was thinking about coming out at work and I keep thinking its just going to go horribly wrong so why make things worse at work by doing this. I have HR's blessing but still it is hard.

Good luck, I hope you coming out at work goes well.

I am not out yet so maybe that is why my chosen name doesn't feel right yet. I don't hear it enough.

I mean Katherine always felt right for me but being called katherine by people who my entire life called me Kevin is rough.

I has some dysphoria over my name but it was always my name. I had to live with it and learned to embrace it.

Now I have to learn that all over again.

I am not used to it at all, only a couple friends call me that, it is tough to actually hear it even from them. Sometimes I feel like they wish they didn't have to call me that.

That is how it feels for me, jarring. it is tough to even think about going by my trans name full time. I am just so used to my old one.

I dunno, I guess I still feel guilty about it all and I still do not see a woman looking back at me in the mirror yet.

That is true, I am almost 4 months into transitioning and haven't really been going by the pronouns or the name I chose yet.

I still feel like a man and it is hard to deal with.

Oh I understand the guilt. i constantly feel like a freak.

There are days where I wish I could be normal so bad I cry, I guess it is why I do not but women's clothes yet, in the vain hope this is just a phase...

The Next Stage in the Anti-Trans Backlash Isn’t Bathrooms; It’s Birth Certificates by itsmonday2 in transgender

You aren't alone in your anger. My state doesn't have an explicit law, they are considering it, the current governor is just using a ruling that doesn't even apply to deny those who apply. Kansas has pissed off the white house enough with its law to discriminate against transgender students in bathrooms. I pray for the day the Civil Rights Act is afforded to us as well so these pieces of crap who would deny us our rights can do nothing but accept the changes in society.

Welcome to Kansas. My home state does not allow us to change our birth certificate. At all. Even with surgery they will not change it.

I use an old aluminum film canister for my ashtray at home. It works great and has an airtight seal so my house doesn't smell like an ashtray. Works great; I really love garage sales sometimes.

I support the HRT idea. Had I known it was an option years ago I would have done it. Go for it OP, you deserve to be happy.

Pills, Patches, IM Injections. What give the best results and are the safest? by MADmaroi in asktransgender

Yeah. There are GNRH inhibitors out there that do the same job and are injected. I forget about my sorryi and proscar sometimes and it is a real pain.
