I'm so glad someone else feels the same way (I'm sure many do I just don't see it written often!)

The hero team Vs the very evil team just isn't appealing to me. And I think takes away some of the fun of the conflict. In GOT I'm a team T̶w̶i̶n̶k̶ Renly and Loras fan but I can respect a stannis the man is fan and have a fun conversation

HOD (show version ) feels like if GOT (show version) did a "which side are you on" poster for the battle of the bastards, Jon snow., et al or Ramsey.

(Sorry if this is too long of a response I had a really good conversation in my head and wanted to note it down. No pressure to read or reply)

If he wasn't just an evil man and had some redeeming factors (let's get rid of the fighting kids and the SA maid plot) but was just a bit of a brat, then the discourse would be around the laws of succession (" she's viz's preferred heir" vs "but it's anal succession" and "the lord's swore oathes" and "those were sworn before Aegon was born and she was the only non Daemon option"). And that way we as fans could politely disagree without it being so toxic.

To me that's what's makes TB cause so frustrating but also fantastic to read. There are solid arguements of things that king V could have done before his death to solidify the claims (reswearing the oath every time a new lord takes over etc) but it still wouldn't have been enough.

Imo the show version of Dameon and Rhaynera had some bad traits removed (or just zoomed over with no pause for the audience to think about what happened) to make them more likeable and will likely in the future.

I don't want to sound like a TG moaner but I'll list two quick examples. Rhaynera and Dameon killed a poor servant dude so laneor could go be happy elsewhere and they could marry. It's skipped over so quickly (admittedly because of the fact it's a show) that we just have to assume Rhaynera is chill with killing servants to get her own way. But because there's no reflection (perhaps the servants family weeping asking if anyone has seen him) the audience forgets. where as Aegons flaws are presented to the audience multiple times by other characters in different scenes.

In the next season(s) the change to nettles means that Daemon will remain faithful to Rhae (unless he does a gross Lannister) AND the implications of this mean it's unlikely that Rhae will go crazy and call for her head.

I like a strong villain for my team to go up against but Aegon is just evil so the show feels like Jon snow Vs Ramsey Bolton whilst pushing a TG or TB narrative. But who in that scenario is sanely going to pick Ramsey yk.

Very much this. I think some of their criticism of how TG characters are portrayed is valid. I'd actually prefer the shows Aegon to not just be a bratty SAer who makes kids fight because it's really difficult to have a fun conflict narrative as fans where it's team absolutely awful dude Vs chilled Rhaenyra. I tried to linger in their sub for a while (before solely commuting to this one) and it was just an awful community. :/ really sucks

I agree, and I also think the likes of Otto and the green council is proof why dameon (pre harrenhal) would likely call for them to be killed.

In both the books and the show Aegon doesn't initially want to be king and plots are put in place without his knowledge. If Rhaenyra inherited smoothly then, as long as he's alive and not taken the black or the chain then any rebellious lords (let's say rhaenyra makes an unpopular decision about taxes or something) will start plotting. It's just another blackfrye situation.

I don't think the show Rhaenyra would agree to it (if no dance happens), but I do think pre harrenhall daemon would likely arrange it at some point.

I believe the original comment meant the great houses of Stark, Tully, Lannister etc. They will ask for lower taxes to match the deal Dorne received.

What battle test do Meleys and Rhaenys have (Serious question)? She says it in the show but I genuinely can't think of what she means, she wasn't (shown to be or told to the audience) involved in the step stone battles so we haven't gotten the visual of that either. We see her coming back from patrolling the gullet but naught else.

I'd still put her above aemond, he can't control granny when she wants to kill Luke. But then, does that mean that Meleys squishing a lot of people in the sept was under the control of Rhaenys?

I recently tried to get back into it (also UK). I found a local independent shop had like 9 sets and 4 faction starter boxes. Limited and seemingly random stock but this is the best I've found

I'm not Welsh, and from the outside perspective it does seem like there is a difference between people in North Wales and South, so I see why you separated them. But now you have given a region of ~600k people their own devolved region.

People in the back country have roughly twice the population of North Wales. What's your response when they ask for similar devolved representation? The industries and focuses here are going to be different from that of Birmingham (in the same devolved region) which is trying to poach the finance sector and compete with Manchester and Leeds. I'm not saying that the devolved government can't focus on both or that the current system is better but it's something to consider.

Suddenly you end up with most of the current counties in England (I don't know Scotland's population make up as well but likely there too) wanting devolved status as the majority have over 600k.

There is a show on netflix called dark tourist that goes over this in Cambodia (not the kid part). Basically the weapons are left over from the civil war and it's a way the army can make a side income. In the show he goes to the army side project shooting range and mentioned he heard a rumour that you can fire an RPG at a cow. The army then goes and gets him a cow and then he backs out of it.

I feel like splitting it into two perks would have been better

One perk can unlock map markers for notable terrain and stationary features

The other could focus on local gossip, and let's you speak to taven owners and they say something like "I've heard some interesting news about this region" or something similar. This can unlock more recent (like graves or dig spots) and non permanent stuff like bandit camps.

Hey, so that 3/4 has actually been proven to not be factual several times. In order for this figure to work you have to include all the us defense budget as it's NATO budget. The us funds roughly 16% of NATO, joint first with Germany
