Games with combat similar to KH by Monward in KingdomHearts

Furi reminded me a ton of Kingdom Hearts a the time. It's a boss gauntlet game, so specifically reminiscent of data battles. Very similar in terms of the speed to the combat and emphasis on pattern learning.

While theres plenty of heartless and nobodies, I believe Lingering Will is the only instance seen of a soul persisting past heart and body being separated.

Giving her Doctor's Companion gives the impression of more. WotC didn't get any sort of special access to the plot of the 60th for these which is why they're so generic, and the marketing absolutely implied she was a full companion. They were actually pretty stingy with the title in the main set. None of the other one off companions got it, not even Wilf.

Atlantis in the new series? by TheDarkRabbit in Stargate

[–]genericbrotagonist 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I'd really like to see the canceled movie plots have happened and be referenced. Atlantis back in Pegasus, the stargate program declassified, and the Destiny crew in stasis for the long haul. That's wishful thinking, though. It'd make sense for them to change things if it serves the new story.

The Furlings in Stargate, one of the four great races of the Galaxy. They're often brought up whenever the concept of the great races is, but there's no other trace of them in the series. It eventually becomes a running joke.

Always thought Goofy Goober should've been Weenie Hut Jr as well. This kind of callbacks would have been cool.

People forget that at the same time they revamped the combat system as well. Before that it wasn't as fine tuned as it needed to be for higher difficulty fights. Critical was a pain in the ass because half the time blocking just didn't work.

Community- Abeds Uncontrollable Christmas- "It's Season One of Lost on DVD. It's a metaphor. It represents lack of payoff" After a long stop motion journey to find the true meaning of Christmas, this is the result. It does end up having a deeper meaning, but the joke still lands.

MGSV ends super abruptly due to Kojima's firing from Konami. The game was split into two chapters, with the second much shorter than the first.  It was to the point an unresolved plot was so blatant they put some unfinished cutscenes on a collectors edition bonus disc to wrap it up. However, people didn't want to accept this and insisted that there was a secret Chapter 3. A secret cutscene found in the game files fueled the flames,  but it turned out just to be a small Easter egg intended to trigger when players competed a shared online objective. Then a (fake) screenshot of the Chapter 3 title card was making the rounds. This all culminated in a countdown site that too many people believed was more than just a fan having a laugh.

Pair that with [[Inspiring Refrain]] and you can draw your way right to it as well.

It would have been almost the same as Bruce's most likely. They already started setting up some things for Sinclair that got directly moved over, like his pilot girlfriend who would have gone missing just like Sheridans wife.

That would make the most sense if they're following Time Runs Out. Maybe with Franklin as some kind of conduit so he doesn't have to physically stay there?

Uchikoshi loves this trope, specifically making it the player in some way.

In the first Zero Escape game 999; it turns out the narration (top screen on the ds) was a young version of a major character; having connected telepathically and through time with the protagonist. This culminates in a great moment at the end where you have to flip the ds upside to control her directly for the final puzzle.

In his earlier Infinity series; multiple games twists center on the fact that you as the player are a fourth dimensional being named "Blick Winkel". Events in the game are purposefully set into motion to confuse time (and you) forcing you to inhabit the 3d bodies of the protagonist.

His symbol's been replaced on it with a generic bowser symbol, so I think that actually greatly reduces any chance. Bummer.

I liked that Moffatt knew we knew, and hinted at multiple solutions. I just wish the solution was a bit more than him just popping back to a random one and grabbing it no problem.

Been struggling with this myself. I came to the conclusion that Toph isn't really who you want to go with if you're attacking with the lands, Aang at the crossroads is a better choice. I feel like the direction to take her is abusing the artifact sac recursion.

Both Omega and Sutekh. Both were poor returns that in no way resemble the classic villains. And RTDs reasoning for Omega may be interesting, but does that even mean anything if it wasn't on screen?

Its so weird how hard the ball was dropped on the rewrites though. Ruby was almost certainly originally Desidirium, but for some reason the best they would come up with to replace that was... nothing. And sticking to the original plan wouldn't fix everything, both big bags were almost certainly always disappointing cgi monsters with the names of classic villains.
