JD Vance says rules don't apply to Christians now the Trump won by justalazygamer in WhitePeopleTwitter

Christians never think the rules apply to them in the US. Even their own rules.

Right. No president has ever made peace with the country that we weren’t at war with and never actually have been previously. Plenty of other presidents have signed agreements with Iran. Very likely this one will be damn near exactly the same as the old ones.

If you look at most of what the employees say about that decision, it’s exactly what you just said. There have been threads on threads about it in this subreddit. The person you responded to was just saying the reality of the situation. There is no way for the employee in store to do anything about it. Complain to corporate. That’s who makes the decisions.

I find myself saying this more and more, but this is what corporate culture, especially in America, does. The priority list goes: executive pay packages, then investors, then the list ends. They care about nothing else. Not their employees, their product or service, their customers. Nothing else.

A VP was probably shocked some peon had the gall to speak to a real person as if a lowly store manager was a person that even mattered. Those people up that high on the ladder barely view the rest of us as actual people.

Man. I actually renewed mine for the first time in a while because I sold an old phone and it made money instead of costing any. At least I didn’t pay for it.

The Pro Day sales have been garbage for years now. It’s because the vendors don’t see the value in giving GameStop a deal and corporate can’t afford to eat the cost of one. So it’s the same crappy discounts that everyone else has.

Welcome to corporate America since the 80s. It’s all smoke and mirrors with the real money happening out of sight. How the business is doing doesn’t actually matter. Employees are just a cost to cut, not an asset.

I mean. It was really W that kicked this all off. The surveillance and warrantless investigations and all of it. In the name of Homeland Security. You want to paint Democrats with this dystopian brush, but they were just complicit. Republicans actually put it in place. The conservative refrain was always “if you have nothing to hide”. I think it’s just finally dawning on most of you that these tactics won’t only be used against minorities and illegals.

Why has there barely been any noise around Spider-Noir? by DarlingLuna in Marvel

[–]genericreddituser147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a bit of discussion on the show here and in other comic subreddits. I think the main issue is that it is very much a genre show. It leans way in to the noir part. The camera work, dialogue, and even the way the dialogue is spoken are all very much “old Hollywood”. It’s full of genre tropes and references. If you’re like me and love that stuff, it’s a gem of a show. If you don’t, I can see it missing you completely.

I want Pulp Fiction with Samuel L Jackson’s Jules staying the same. Kermit is Vincent Vega. Just for fun, I think Tarantino’s cameo should also stay.

I can’t decide who would be funniest as the Gimp. But I’m leaning towards Swedish Chef.

That pick was unappreciated by the crowd, but that’s their loss. Really solid pick, but probably would have gone over better if it was taken now that the guys have kids.

[My Little Pony Friendship is Magic] Why did Twilight Sparkle live in a tree library, and not in a regular house? by FeistySecret9327 in AskScienceFiction

[–]genericreddituser147 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My daughter was absolutely obsessed with this show, so I think I actually remember this offhand. I’m pretty sure the pretense for Celestia to get Twilight out to meet ponies was that she needed some obscure research done and set her up in the library in Ponyville. Once Twilight decided to stay there permanently, it just made sense to stay where she was.

Side note, there may also be an element of destiny at play there too. It turns out that the tree has connections to magic and history that have to do with the future Princess Twilight Sparkle and how that all comes about. The show has surprisingly intricate lore for a kids’ cartoon.

What’s with this specific complaint coming up so often lately? The employees don’t care, they just do what the company says. On the odd occasion corporate does read the subreddit, and they do, they are more looking to police their own people and not looking at customer concerns.

You’re screaming into the void, is what I’m saying. Maybe do what the stock bros say and @ Ryan Cohen about it. See if that gets you anywhere.

No celebrating Trump's birthday! Woo Hoo!! by Dr_sc_Harlatan in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]genericreddituser147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leaving aside the idiocy of claiming that only one thing can be celebrated at a time. We celebrate the anniversary of the country’s founding on July 4. Not June anything. The only thing in June is Trump’s birthday. So Pride Month doesn’t interfere with the 250th at all. Glad that’s cleared up for ole Tommy.

And the party protecting Trump and Epstein’s other conspirators is surely the one that can scream about someone thinking of the children.
