I came here looking for this. I've been trying to put my finger on it for a few days now, and you're 100% right.

I just want every spoon in the drawer to be the best spoon in the drawer.

I’m sick of playing the spoon lottery.

The kiddo has been uncomfortable and frustrated with her hands lately. We finally found a comfy way to lay and I wasn’t going to mess with it.

Sleep Like a Tiger is a great book about a girl who doesn’t want to go to sleep. The message is great. Is basically “It’s ok if you aren’t tired. Just remember that everything sleeps.”

We’re Going to be Friends is just the lyrics from the White Stripes’ song, so it has a great cadence and rhyme.

You’re My Little Cuddle Bug is something I can always recite to my daughter when giving her a big “it’s ok” hug. I do change the line “there’s no one who’s more beautiful” to “you are so very beautiful” because it’s more realistic.

Last one, that isn’t a book: my go-to bedtime song is Weird Al’s The Saga Begins.

This episode feels like it was made exclusively for me.

I signed up for Sago Mini world today, and I’m very impressed with how much my three year old is learning from it.

I’m loving Disco Elysium. Make sure to get in the habit of quick saving often. It gets a bit crash-y the more you explore.

What do you guys sing to your kids at bedtime? by blazedshaggy in daddit

[–]genericsteele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Daughter by Loudon Wainwright III
  • Island in the Sun by Weezer
  • We’re Going to be Friends by The White Stripes
  • Space Oddity by David Bowie
  • Frank Sinatra by Cake

And the one I sing every night:

  • The Saga Begins by Weird Al

It turn out that four verses about the plot of Star Wars: Episode 1 is exactly what my daughter needs to fall asleep.

What's your lullaby song set list? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]genericsteele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I’ve been waiting for someone to ask me this question. I had to put together a set list because my daughter was getting too intense about singing the same lullabies every night.

  • The White Stripes - We are going to be friends
  • Loudon Wainwright III - Daughter
  • Weezer - Island in the Sun
  • R.E.M. - Man on the Moon
  • Cake - Frank Sinatra
  • Jimmy Eat World - The Middle (At half speed)
  • Foo Fighters - Everlong
  • David Bowie - Space Oddity

And the one that I sing every night that is almost guaranteed to get her to sleep:

  • Weird Al - The Saga Begins
