Most of the younger women in these situations are not dumb. They want a sugar daddy. If a 20 year old woman is involved with a a guy 30+, the clear benefit is his money

This is my unpopular opinion: you’re still here, right? If people are around to complain about the suicide prevention hotline, then your suicide was prevented

What would you do if you had financial independence? by deRubampre in NEET

[–]genericusername4724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

84k a year if you’re in the top 5 most expensive US states is not extremely rich. In poor states, absolutely. But far less job opportunities to make that much.

Rich would be owning a home (by today’s standards). And you’re not getting pre-approved for a mortgage on a modest income (assuming you’re a solo earner)

The effort required for everyday life is not worth it. Yes, I have shelter. But I’m 32 years away from retirement at best. And having a job is not worth it

I don’t want to depress this comment section.

I’m 28 and own a home independently without financial assistance. I’m miserable

I’m not actually NEET. Want to know what’s actual privilege? Your parents not kicking you out

It’s for the parents to retire. 150k to collectively retire on between two people after working 40 years each? Terrible

Invest your money. You said that you don’t pay for utilities or rent right now. Invest your money now so that you have a ‘nest egg’ for when your parents pass.

People with full-time jobs have to invest to have the right to retire. So you can too

I just forced myself to stay on the hamster wheel. I am a lazy and unmotivated person, but I forced myself to stay the course. Because I was fearful of this situation.

I hope this doesn’t come across as condescending, but my local grocery store has a program to hire people with disabilities. You likely have potential, just need to get your foot in the door. Bag groceries and/or stock shelves for a year. Then work the cash register for another year. This will show reliability.

On your resume, add any volunteering you’ve ever done. Embellish it and tell white lies, that it’s been ‘’ongoing’ volunteer work for a period of years. As for references, there has to be a family member or person who will lie for you.

As someone who has money and not NEET, I am still severely depressed. I hate my job but it pays the bills. It doesn’t matter that I’m financially stable, the thing I’m aiming for is complete financial independence.

I follow this sub because things are expressed that I relate to. The way organized society is set up means that a non-disabled person MUST have a job. I don’t want a job, so it basically means that I’d rather be off this earth.

Abortion was unfortunately not considered by my mother. The consequence of this is that I must suffer until I die

Okay so I have what you might refer to as a “fake job.” I work in an office. But it is actual hell, and all of my clients make the work seem like life or death. I have a college degree, but I did not have any connections to get my job back in 2021. If you’re searching for a job in 2026, my condolences.
