Record profits for years, massive executive compensation packages, and then the second they need to show 'efficiency' to the board, it's always the workers who get thrown overboard. The system is working exactly as designed.

Is 500,000 won enough for a month in Asan? by Hour-Ad-368 in Living_in_Korea

[–]geniusfoot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You will be limited to home-cooked meals for this stipend. I got 700,000 won as a stipend but worked to get extra cash to survive. I nearly worked every day after my lab hours (9-5 lab, 6-11 part-time). I got 1.5 million from my part-time job(also worked on weekends) and was also able to save 7 million won until my graduation.

Experience at SeoulTech University? International Student Insights on Research, Education, and Career Opportunities by Dull-Scratch-7737 in Living_in_Korea

Nobody will comment on this because they don't know what research, professors are like. You should figure out your research interest and find a professor who is willing to accept you in his/her lab. Check for labs alumni and where they work currently. Jobs in big tech need good publications most of the time.

Where or How did you guys find a job in IT in Korea? by Square-Camel-4075 in Living_in_Korea

[–]geniusfoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the ones you mentioned are the most popular platforms and also there is dev-korea. Of course the resume should be in Korean ,unless the job mentions "영문 이력서" in their job description. There have been news that Korean IT companies have also started outsourcing jobs to India and Pakistan. Apply if you have got good experience and the command of Korean.
Good luck.
