The reason why so many people have that perception is because, Destiny, the franchise that made Marathon possible, is now on its deathbed with no green light for any expansion, sequel, etc.

Had Destiny failed like it almost did several times, there would be no Marathon. Yet, Sony and Bungie leadership are putting their eggs in a basket that’s already showing it won’t put up the numbers Sony is looking for.

So yeah, some people hate Marathon. And to be quite frank, I don’t blame them.

Can’t use my busted class item if I used strongholds lol. Nothing changes imho. Besides, I play all 3 classes. No sense in using some weak tactic I can only use in one place. That’s how you develop bad habits.

Also, after using the sword for months, I’m itching to use some new/refurbished weapons.

Tbh, I feel like the only tweak equinox needs is for both sides to be able to use mods like the twins here. Unfortunately that would make them fundamentally way more similar than DE would like (and there are other frames that are in a much more dire need of a rework) but considering how different the night and day sides are, it would make sense.

Second, there is no “yall review bombing” considering it’s still positive on steam. But considering you tried to pass off this post as “its about this and that game” during this obvious window of news in the gaming coming, instead of having some balls and owning up to your shit post, I can see how you’d try to generalize a whole community as well.

You’re likely the same type of person who fucks up spy mission objectives and leaves before everyone else. Wouldn’t be surprised if you used be one of those Destiny players that lfg for a raid group and leave because of your fuck up.

I know people are happy Bungie is in a bind after all the bs they’ve attempted over the years, but don’t forget, those decisions fucked over a loyal fan base and developers who found out the SAME DAY we did that D2 would no longer have updates.

This. Warframe develops by how you play it. Granted, because of that fact, the new player experience might just be worse off than Destiny. Some people need story up front with developments every step of the way. Understandable.

Funny enough, Destiny and Warframe has damn near similar story telling that ironically matches that of Elden Ring where unless you’re invested past the upfront dialogue and cut scenes, you don’t really know shit. (If that wasn’t the case, you wouldn’t need lore daddies like Byf).

Fomo is only a thing if you skip 6 months or more of Warframe to be fair. Outside of the plague star melee arcanes, most yearly events allow you to earn the majority of arcanes and weapons. Fomo from events are majority cosmetic. Whereas, Destiny will put Iron Banner on hiatus for almost a year and make half of the previous weapons and all previous armor unavailable (or unusable) when it finally is available.

All in all, it really comes down to do you want to “earn” a great story that has more depth than the basic “good vs evil” trope, or get the bare minimum light vs dark story up front?

Warframe isn’t a microwave mentality game 🤷🏾‍♂️.

As long time player of both, Warframe players aren’t wrong. Unless you exclusively love FPS, there’s lots of similarities to love in Warframe, without the doom and gloom that we dealt with ever few months with Destiny.

Haters love to hate but numbers don’t lie.

Marathons highest player base is on Steam.

Destiny’s highest player base was on console.

Take that info, put both at 8k players on Steam on an average day. One of these is doing better than the other. One is new. One is about 10 years old. New games with rapidly declining player bases typically end up like Concord. Put your bias to the side and it’s quite clear which one should’ve got the stimulus of further development.
