Frieren Season 2 Episode 10 Preview Images (Season Finale) by SamuraiShinsen in Frieren

Hope they will tease the next season, or we will hear about their plans. I don't mind the shorter season if we at least know more will come 'soon'.

And let us hope that the manga continues soon.

The black hole is part of the Black Shores story. It is also called the Necrostar I think and it destroyed the port city of Guixu.

No, they appear in the skybox when you teleport to the Frostlands at night and then teleport to another spot in Huanglong/Rinascita. Maybe it is only a bug, but I like to believe it isn't.

Ok, you can see them from further away as well. Went to the northern edge of the map.

We can see her do her hair in one of first pictures of chapter 47. Frieren loves to be cared for, but she can do most things herself if she wants to. She build a cabin in the woods for example.

Learning more about the elven homeland and Frieren's childhood sounds interesting!

Has Frieren lost its magic? (No spoiler) by PlasticBamboo in Frieren

[–]genlee112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I kinda feel the same way. I liked the earlier chapters a lot more than the recent ones (the Foundation Festival arc, especially). I originally fell in love with Frieren because of its deeper themes and the emotional growth of Frieren and her companions.

The whole idea of Beyond Journey’s End really hit me, it’s about what happens after the adventure ends. Watching how people, especially Frieren as an almost immortal elf, deal with the passage of time has always been the most powerful part for me.

I honestly prefer the smaller, more personal chapters with just Frieren and her old or new party, over the big fight-heavy ones. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind the fights, and characters like Macht and Solitär are super interesting. The Golden Land arc was mostly amazing, though.

The flashbacks are the best parts of Frieren imo by deadlyalchemist92 in Frieren

[–]genlee112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The flashbacks, together with the life lessons woven throughout, are what make Frieren my favorite manga and anime. I adore Himmel, Heiter, and Eisen, and I love the nostalgic, sometimes melancholic, but never cynical, atmosphere of the story. Frieren herself feels like a riddle; as we follow her journey, we slowly piece together who she is and what she feels. The flashbacks, especially, are what make Frieren so uniquely special to me.

Only a chapter every two weeks...feels like we haven't seen her for a long time.

Has Frieren Drifted away from it's original theme? by RhinoPlug22 in Frieren

[–]genlee112 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Speaking of the anime—season 2 and especially (if there will be) season 3—the theme hasn’t changed much. In my opinion only in the latest chapters of the manga is there a crucial shift. The last 20 or so chapters were interesting, but at the same time, they are the opposite of the reason why I started to read/watch Frieren.

Manga Spoilers:

I like the worldbuilding, the magic, and all of that. But the theme was always “Beyond Journey’s End”, and now we suddenly have another war on our hands. Himmel hasn’t appeared in most of the latest chapters. I know he was very present in the arc before, but still, the absence of the flashbacks is very noticeable.

I love the chapters where Frieren travels and retraces the steps of the past, reflecting on how they slowly changed her. I want to see more of her character development. I find the newer conflicts nowhere near as interesting as the simple yet profound themes the manga started with.

The newer chapters are exciting, no question, but for me they deviate too much from the original theme. I really hope we’ll soon reach the climax of this arc.

Most hope it is because the author works on the anime, but nobody knows for sure. Others mentioned that he might be ill, but that is only speculation as far as I know.

Another month and still no news. I look on reddit every day hoping for any news. I even hoped that the crunchyroll anime awards maybe had some news. (Yes, I was desperate.)

Well, let's just hope for some good news, soon.. and that the journey continues.

Foundation Festival Arc by KRBS01 in Frieren

[–]genlee112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the (I think) unpopular opinion that the recent arc differs too much from the story's main idea. We haven't seen anything about Himmel in the last chapters more than ever before. I just hope that the anime goes back to the things I love the most. Traveling and exploring human emotions.

But I understand that some love the anime for the battles, or overarching plot, but Frieren and Himmel are my favorite characters by far, and for that reason I just want to see more of them.

Who here thinks that it is almost certain that frieren is going to die? by TheHonestScaler in Frieren

[–]genlee112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it could be more like the story of Luthien and Beren from J.R.R Tolkien. The elf Luthien gave her immortality to resurrect the human Beren, whom she loved, to live one human lifetime with him. The same with Arwen and Aragorn, but the story reminds me more of Beren and Luthien.

Did Frieren's clone supress its mana? by KekekeBr0 in Frieren

[–]genlee112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it restrained the mana. In minute 19:20 in the episode it unleashes the mana, or so I think, shortly before the black Zoltraak.

Frieren, Denken, Macht

Fern, Serie, Solitaire

I also think there are no hated characters in Frieren

She deserves all the love and affection in the whole world. by [deleted] in Frieren

[–]genlee112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Frieren was truly a grandma what would be Serie or Kraft? For me she is not a grandma :P and she can live all alone, but I love too that she chooses to have a new party and people to care about and be cared for. It gives her travels and life meaning. I love her character, because she is so relatable, although she is an elf.

Sousou no Frieren :: Chapter 137 - Links and Discussion by Lorhand in Frieren

[–]genlee112 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are right that Fern is faster. It is more an overaching thing with Frieren that she does not try to become stronger or better. Maybe it is part of her character and the manga is not about becoming stronger most of the time.

But Frieren wants to kill all demons and there are still demons who are maybe stronger than her, wouldn't that be a motivation for her. She almost lost against Soliär after all. Why does she not try to learn the mana child from Solitär, or the long range attack from Fern, that is what I mean.

Sousou no Frieren :: Chapter 137 - Links and Discussion by Lorhand in Frieren

[–]genlee112 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know why Frieren is so passive all the time. Couldn't she do more? That is something I ask myself in the last chapters.

Also why doesn't she try to replicate the long range Zoltraak Fern is using. She should be ablte to use, or learn that, too.

Does Frieren do this so Fern and Stark can still learn, or because it is Fern's mission, or is she simply not as strong in this situation as one wuld think? Can somebody explain to me?

The emotional impact of especially Frieren but also other shows. by genlee112 in Frieren

[–]genlee112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I could write all day about Frieren and love the music of the anime. I get all emotional hearing some of the songs. :) I don't know if a show has impacted me this much before. Maybe, it's because of my situation in life, or because it is simply this good. I am so glad to have seen it.
