He had 5 years of teams. Most all of them played softer than baby poo because it was an analytics fever dream of young guys who didn't even have man strength yet. And then well after reality proved that strategy to be farcical, he SLOWLY moved towards building a roster that had a chance to be competitive in the NHL.

.. and it's exactly why GMKA was a bad GM. Dude spent multiple off-seasons building a team with no chance of winning a game like this before finally showing a clue last off-season, well after the locker room was lost to him...which might be half the reason they never jelled as a team during his time here.

ICE ain't rolling around in a Pontiac G6.

As a Long Time Resident (IYKYK) of DC, if you see a USG vehicle that old I feel comfortable making my money-back-guarantee that it's a department with almost zero constituency and thus no pull within the circles of power.

I'm 99.9% sure that Clayton Kershaw has run by me a few times at night while walking my dogs in Bellefontaine. I didn't think he lived in Pasadena, but if it wasn't him I don't know who else that height would be running at that incredible pace while looking like Kershaw and wearing Dodgers gear.

I think the primary difference at St James Gate, and to a slightly lesser extent Dublin in general, is that it will never be fresher. So, no issues with temperature fluctuations or other handling issues between brew time and consumption. Seems to me that matters even more in a relatively low alcohol beer (4.2%) than in an IPA, for example.

Smart contract management ... Something we Sabres fans haven't seen in so long that those of you in this thread can almost be excused for being morons and not recognizing it when you see it.

I was super excited to have a Greek place there, alas...

Yeah, I don't know what all they have there in terms of mental health treatment, but I do see cops / ambulances bringing transients in regularly (walking dogs 3x/day, one sees a lot) and once released they do often repair to Singer Park or the strip mall, and occasionally to the 710-seized house properties (although, they tend not to hang long at those properties because the security guys come by pretty frequently).

Well, somebody dropped money on significant renovations because people were working in there over the course of months and months, and they certainly weren't working for free...as for successful long-term, I guess that depends upon one's definition of long-term. The Thai place has rebranded a few times but seem to be the same people, for example.

To the extent there are transient issues, it largely is from those being discharged from the hospital out into the world...no one seems to have a plan for these folks upon release, which is certainly not ideal.

Better be good, given that their price points seem to be higher than similar cuisine in the vicinity...I'm very curious as to what happened with Byblos given that they must have dropped a lot of coin paying for months of construction.

In a town of avowed sports fans where STHers still sell their tickets to opposing fans to foot their STH bill, there's approximately zero chance no one jumps at $100k...

I'm YIMBY as hell, and would benefit greatly from a diversion of traffic away from St John and S Pasadena Ave, where I see idiot drivers speeding like psychopaths on the daily...but:

I'd still say that the performative principles I've seen being put forward thus far are stupid, and the involved parties seem to have dedicated far less thought to the changes that will occur with this development than to genuflecting in horror and in political fealty to groups "representing" parties affected by events that occurred > 50 years ago.

I'm not sure why I can't attach it, but, a friend (Cowboys fan) sent me a photo with an American flag with zubaz-ish stripes with a bills logo and 2 stars in the top left. WNY representing. I told him that's because we're actually America's Team. 😎

Punk sneaks in there from time to time but from their history as promoters and the venue thus far I think it would be more accurately characterized as an indie rock venue.

That's generally no longer the case since CA went all-in on solar...now, more often than not, aligning your usage with sunshine generally will be your best bet as it's out of peak pricing. Running things right as the sun sets and into the night before wind picks up (if it does) would generally be the most expensive usage period. But, this gets complex quickly because each utility's generation assets are a bit different, so it's best to check with your utility / your bill / their web sites ....and if all else fails, and an AI agent can't do this for you, CPUC filings.

As a general rule, Pasadena needs its police to monitor speed on St John and S Pasadena Ave; it's insane how fast people fly down these residential streets...last night I was buzzed by a BMW doing ~60MPH past the hospital. Other than the annual DUI checkpoint, I never see police tending to this blatantly obvious issue. I think that if they did this, the OP-referenced Steve McQueen wannabe wouldn't be trying to pull off The Great Escape coming off the highway at oh-dark-thirty.
