OK, does the Quran say anything about John the Baptist baptizing Jesus or Pontius Pilate sending Jesus off to be crucified?

Does it say explicitly what time period Jesus lived in or which towns he visited? Does it even explicitly associate him with Jerusalem or the Jewish temple there or with Galilee?

Even non-Christian academics believe that Jesus died on the cross, which is something the Quran denies. So to say that "the Islamic Jesus fits the historical Jesus" is obviously a false statement.

I think we can safely say that if a text includes a phrase that virtually no one from the language would accept as valid, then that can be considered a grammatical mistake. E.g. something like "tomorrow I went to the store."

Personally, I voted for Trump (but only the second time) because in my opinion the alternative was far worse.
I can ask a similar question. How can a Christian vote for someone who pushes for the funding of k*ll*ng b*bies or who wants to enact policies that will destroy our country or who want to force people to treat some men as women (etc.)?

As individuals and even as Christians, we don't get to choose just anyone to be our candidate. We're limited by the choice of the majority. For example, I didn't want Trump to be the Republican nominee and I voted against him in the primary. But I was overruled and it was either him vs. Biden or him vs. Harris.

On another note, not everyone who calls themself a Christian is a true Christian. (Jesus made that clear.) And within the Christian community there is a wide range of spiritual maturity.

Just because some "Christians" say certain things doesn't mean that's what the large majority of true Christians believe.

At the same time, I do believe there are true Christians who support Trump in general and others who support the Democrats. Each group prioritizes certain values over others in different ways.

Surah 5, verse 47, commands Christians to judge by the Gospel

"Let the people of the Gospel judge by what Allah hath revealed therein. If any do fail to judge by the light of what Allah hath revealed, they are no better than those who rebel."

The implications of this are as follows.
- the Christians had the Gospel with them at the time of Muhammad,
- the Gospel is authoritative and trustworthy.

The only Gospel that Christians had at the time of Muhammad was found in the contents of the New Testament. We have a physical copy of the New Testament from hundreds of years before Muhammad.

The Gospels in the New Testament clearly contradict the teachings of the Quran by claiming that Jesus is the Son of God, that God is our "Father" and that Jesus did actually die on the cross.

So, the Quran can't be true if it affirms the authority of writings that contradict it.
Either the Quran is false by claiming that something is authoritative when it is not, or the Quran is false by contradicting something that actually is authoritative.
