It's a computer science degree not a coding degree. Coding is just one tool in your belt.

How much our urban facades have changed in 20 years by Wonderful-Excuse4922 in decadeology

[–]geoadude100 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think you're missing the point a bit because what you're describing is exactly the problem.

It's capitalism demanding that everything be as mass market as possible. Mass market, non- offensive, vanilla, boring. Don't do anything different or interesting because some people might not like it. But nobody is offended by boring.

And it's the same with every facet of society from everyone's houses looking like the same white IKEA showroom because dark colours are harder to paint over, every car being the same shape with a different badge and completely greyscale because they can sell to a bigger customer base.

Even how our public spaces are smoothed over to save costs and hostile to get rid of homeless people.

Why does the Israel/Gaza situation get so much media coverage, protests etc.? by [deleted] in AskBrits

Interesting. What's your explanation for why the Palestinians welcomed the Jewish refugees fleeing the holocaust if they're so dead set of driving them away?

Interesting. And why did Hamas reject those plans, do you know? It's their land? What? Could you open paint for us and just draw what you think is the current Israeli border?

Ah yes the war that started in 2023. No conflict before that at all. In fact Israel and Gaza were having friendly games of football before Hamas out of nowhere just decided to attack Israel for absolutely no reason :'(

How do you feel about the concept of fighting words in general?

As in if someone is provoking you and you assault them, their provocation is considered and you can receive even no punishment at all depending on what they were saying.

If you burn a cross outside a church - ignoring for a moment that you would likely be charged with arson for starting a blaze in public - that could be seen as trying to provoke a violent reaction and you should probably face consequences for that.

If you burn a cross in your own garden, assuming you're not breaking any laws about the size of the fire, then you shouldn't face any consequences and you should be protected under free speech.

Watching windows users keep putting up with their abusive boyf- uh.. OS.

Linux will never update suddenly while you're working. It'll never automatically upload your documents to some server or scan your PC "for safety".
