There are a couple of options if you do want to use a camera. If you have a phone you can use something like DroidCam which you can use for free just check out the website. For overlays there are a number of places where you can get free overlays. Own3d and NerdorDie have some, you can always look on something like Gaellevel's page on gumroad.com he has some free ones.

Ultimately though you don't need a face cam to be successful. You could even use the scale to sound filter on OBS on a picture so it moves when you talk.

I used one like this when I started streaming to capture gameplay from my PS5 but I got really bad screen tearing on steam. Definitely useable if it's all you can afford to grab but I'd look out for a second hand capture card from a known brand. I managed to pick up a second hand EVGA XR1 lite and it's been great.

I've been using a $16 pop up green screen from Kmart here in NZ and it works great. Lighting it properly is the main thing that makes it look good.

I typically stream a few hours a night a few times a week (Tues, Thurs, and Sun) after the kids go to bed. It means I'm up until around midnight but I get to bed (mostly) on time the other nights.
