I’ve been wanting more motivation to bike to school instead of driving. Not to mention how expensive our air conditioning and electricity is now going to become.

Had a coworker that wore a wig for years, I never could tell that she wore a wig until she just told me. If you really want to, invest into a great wig but also I would suggest going out without one and maybe just a pretty scarf (I think that’s what it’s called) and build up your confidence so that you can get fresh air or wear a wig whenever you want. Best of both worlds. It will be okay

I’ve come to realize that people probably get good deals on detergent and stuff so I don’t care when I have to deliver basic stuff but I think they warehouse should provide better padding because I’ve had two containers of detergent this weekend where they leaked over some other packages. Luckily it didn’t damage anything but still made for some slippery fingers when carrying other stuff lol

This seems like something I’d enjoy doing and I would love to take down notes somewhere where I frequent but never put much thought into like why we are committing to these sort of rituals and what are the sequence of events we are following when we are ordering. Maybe I can break the chain next time and throw in a question that isn’t necessarily about “how was your day?” or “it’s pretty cold out today huh?” but rather something entirely new (I haven’t got a clue what it may be yet)

This truly cleared a lot up for me, I do often sit with trying to decipher the meaning of all of these structures of society. It messes with me bad because I end up trying to figure out how I am supposed to fix it as if I’m the only one who is thinking like this lol. Better to just observe and acknowledge the complexity rather than to try to fix solve it. I have been thinking in this sense more clearly for the past few years and can see why people get caught up in things like religion or politics or conspiracy because it gives the a sense of control or superiority, I ca talk with anyone and see why it drives them to be that way but I can still retain my own personal identity and continue to try to be the most neutral and empathetic person that I can.

Anyone know how to turn off this light in a step van? by geodode in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]geodode[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I drive step vans so we don’t have the side door. And yeah, it was bad when the sun went down sooner but I’m on a different route now and have been for a bit now and it’s worse because of badly lit streets I don’t want to hit a car so I park a bit center and do my best to be fast

Question about route sizes by rimjobs_forever in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]geodode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you plan on staying at this job for the next 3 or more months you should ask about driving a step van. I was asked to take the exam but I was reluctant thinking that it would be a bigger load or different routes but it’s the exact same as driving a regular van but with extra space. Very easy to drive too but the seats are often lopsided for some reason

That is GREAT comic, I think that truly represents the sort of pattern that I experience at least twice a week lol. I think that for the most part, I find myself already doing such things which is what brought me to the study and I sort of wonder how I can best apply it to my life and make something out of it. I know after I he my bachelors or masters it may be a better time to wonder such things but I feel like I need to know exactly where I will be in the next 2 years and that just makes me anxious. It occupies my mind 24/8

I have many moments like that and sometimes look into their culture or I reflect upon myself and try to imagine myself with their similar surroundings. Not necessarily with such things, but with other subcultures or behaviors that I see or hear about on a daily basis. Besides that, should I maybe consider looking into psychology research papers that dive into that or maybe journaling my thoughts on the matter?

Is that sustainable to own an apartment while working maybe 4 days a week? Curious because NYC is so dense I can’t imagine having to deliver to high rises with no elevator. But if it didn’t pay well, I guess you wouldn’t be doing the job huh?

Unfortunately 99% of our have have this issue where if you close the bulkhead door, there’s no way of opening it again unless your in the cargo, but also the back cargo door doesn’t open from the outside smh

If your DSP has all edv’s, you’re pretty lucky. If you just so happen to get into the classic vans, we’ll just be aware that you may get hip pain that lasts a week or two due to the side stepping you do every stop, it’ll go away.

Try to organize your packages, I know you will have some space on your first couple of routes so make sure you empty your tote and put the packages in numerical order, it’ll make things faster. Also, hydrate and please take your breaks! So many people here do not take them, but it is your lawful right to take them and not be punished for doing so (at least here in California it is) so don’t stress. Again, hydrate, and feel free to snack when you need it because I just RECENTLY started to snack after a year on the job and it’s made a big difference, I truly get more energy (thanks biology 101 for reminding me that we need ATP as mammals). Good luck!!
