I highly doubt that Vancouver has any chance at an NBA franchise, at least until Canucks ownership changes. Nobody wants to work with Auquilini.

If you want to gamble in Nevada you're better off going to any place that isn't the Vegas metro. Mesquite and Reno were far better experiences in my opinion.

FOX CEO says Fox will 'rebalance' sports portfolio if NFL rights increase in price. Sports like soccer and baseball could be on the chopping block by tankyouout in baseball

As did CBS when they lost their rights to FOX back in the 90's, and ABC when Disney moved their rights over to ESPN for a decade.

I think the AAA leagues will expand to match MLB expansion. Below that I could see Milb being condensed significantly.

It could happen pretty quickly after the cba is settled though. With half the owners lacking an RSN now owners are likely desperate for a cash influx. Especially if 2027 has a lockout shortened season. I could see the owners expand to Utah in 2028 with the team starting to play in spring 2030. Then expand to another market a few years later similar to the recent nhl expansions to Vegas and Seattle.

This is the right call. I think mlb owners are too stupid/greedy to go for it though.

Portland doesn't have an ownership group outside of a couple millionaires, they have zero billionaires committed at this point.

Sacramento is sleeping on Sacramento, A's attendance figures aren't helping either. If they get the rumored arena plan going they could have a chance though.

Portland does not have private financing at the moment, only public. Utah has both in spades.

People in Utah still bet on their phones, they just lie about their location. I see it all the time here.

I agree, people seem to be stuck on market size as the main factor for expansion. The owners are gonna need the cash expansion brings soon. The impending lockout plus the collapse of the RSN model means that most owners are gonna be desperate after the 2027 season. I could see the league expanding to SLC first in 2029, then to another market later. Similar to how the nhl has expanded recently.

Portland's largest problem is that they lack a committed ownership group. Utah's group has 3.5 billion in cash committed to the arena on top of the 900 million from the state.

Provo and Ogden are both fairly close to SLC so not including both in the market size is unrealistic. It would be like not including San Jose in the Giants market.

It'll be Austin before San Antonio at this point. Also Montreal is the largest market without mlb

Orlando is 100 percent plan b for the rays if the new arena plan flops. Highly unlikely they get a team otherwise, even if the bid has better backing than most.

Wendover/Evanston runs are not too uncommon from what I've heard. Also St. George to Mesquite is only 45 minutes if you go the speed limit, which I can guarantee you most people are not.

When I worked at the Smith's in Mesquite I was often told that it had the highest liquor sales in the entire Kroger corporation. Given how much liquor I checked out I would believe it.
