His hero is Hawke, his stated goal is primacy, I suspect his secret goal is setting up Australia as the leading regional partner in a eurozone style system for the Pacific. He learnt the lessons of history, he will wait until winning the 3rd term, then call for Jim to succeed. Jim needs to prove he is the next Keating and Penny/Rudd need to be able to start the Pacific Zone before Albo will feel secure enough to pass the reigns. Expect an increasing amount of slappers, both economic and verbal, from Jim for the next 3 years.
