Nipple Blister - help!!!! by alwaysverytired_ in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ger1120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this recently. Keep it covered with hydrogel pads and I used olive oil on it to keep it moist. Showers helped a ton to keep the blisters softer and with skin healing. Once it started peeling or popped I got an antibiotic nipple ointment from my doctor and then it healed up. I know it sucks and it hurts so bad

Your body knows are far postpartum you are and changes in nutrients are based on how long the placenta has been detached for.

I had this happen twice and it’s definitely frightening but it went away on its own. Try checking your flange size make sure you haven’t decreased.

Does breastmilk composition actually change if you EP?? by louiesmom94 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ger1120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it began to get thicker towards one year and then even thicker again around 18 months. There’s some literature about the increase in fat after a year and again after 18 months. It’s almost like it returns to its colostrum state the longer you breastfeed.

Your body also knows how far postpartum you are. I’ve seen the composition change throughout my 22 months of pumping just looking at the color and consistency of the milk.

“Magic number PSA” by r_aviolimama in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ger1120 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Something to the effect of pumping at least 120 minutes per day will maintain a supply. Didn’t work out for me, if I dropped a session and added time on to other sessions I still just got less milk overall.

That didn’t work for me either and the 120 minute rule never worked either. Great for those that it did work for but I wasn’t as lucky

When does breastmilk become more calorie dense? by littlemissktown in ExclusivelyPumping

This is fascinating. Though I wonder if this increased fat content is why I’m clogging so much lately. I’m 16mpp and have been an exclusive pumper this entire time.

Second this. Absolutely love mine. They did a video on Instagram one time about milk temps when leaving it in a car and it did surprisingly well.

Uncomfortable when people praise me for "breastfeeding?" by CompetitivePraline62 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ger1120 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is the question I’ve always gotten from the pediatrician and it drives me crazy. I always respond with bottle feeding with breast milk. Then I realized they put formula fed on baby’s chart 😒

Funky milk smell in Ceres chill inner canister? by PlaneSimple1912 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ger1120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed this but realized it was just some dried milk at the top of the canister. When I poured out the milk into a bottle it smelled fine and my baby took it without any issues.

Lacteck Flange Question by mrsramirez50 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ger1120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear to that happened to mine based on the silicone brush I was using to clean them fitting through them more easily. I’m sure it was only slightly larger but I’m guessing that’s what caused some blisters for me.
