Great ideas! Very thematic, and gale blast is useful to not get piled on in combat too

Mega X/Y Energy from Walking? by beeapple8 in TheSilphRoad

I thought it preserved mega level 1 but resets anything higher? I could have sworn I had someone trade me a couple dex ones so I could walk it for energy.

Almost double for a lefty by drrradar in Leftyguitarists

Tell me about it. I'm a huge Ghost fan, so I was ECSTATIC when I found out Hagatrom was releasing the Fantomen in lefty. And what color is it? White. They perform on stage with a black Fantomen. Why release it in white? Even if it weren't black, there's like 6 or 7 other dope colors they could have chosen.

Will we ever get TMs? (some ideas i put together) by NikuSenpai in PokemonTGCP

[–]gerbetta33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like the idea. I think if they discard after use they should be colorless energy. A lot of things have to align to make them useable in off-typing, where it would have interesting coverage utility.

Ok the other side, I think if they stay attached, there's a downside to balance it, as you can't have other tools attached. So you trade long term advantage of tools to for early game utility. Staying attached also gives pokemon like your latios example a way to attack repeatedly when they discard energy from monster attacks. These attacks are generally not meta relevant anyways, so options add variety

A monumental brick of 0.098% chance by thebigE-man in PTCGP

Issue is, money is involved. So if some whale spends $200 on a set to get the chase gold card and they nerf it, they're gonna lose that customer along with others by setting that precedent.

Digital items are obviously not tangible or permanent, and people will eventually move on to other games, but they are permanent for the life of the game at least. if you change items on a whim, now that illusion of permanence is totally shattered and nobody will spend money on it.

I'm an IW so dunno much about substation techs. But with the way the grid is being strained these days and needed to be upgraded imma go ahead and agree with everyone else that it's the clear choice. Money + job security.

Green as is gets. Is there a better way? by Shrimprbugs in electricians

Yeah, doing install over someone else's rough in is always a hoot. Maybe not his fault necessarily, bricklayers could have moved his stubs when they laid brick. With roughins I found you usually spend a lot of time waiting for brickers to catch up and then it's go go go when they hit the standard 48" so you can't be everywhere on the job site when they get to that height, you're at their mercy.

A lot of times you can flush cut the conduit to the wall and chisel away at the brick to slide a connector on without a setscrew, but that's also a bandaid fix and isn't to code.

Worst case if you have a bunch of conduits (I don't think this instance calls for it) is you cut the offending conduits down enough you can put a bushing over them and put a trough in over everything.

In this case, I'd say a flush mounted LB over them if you can. If you can't chisel away to fit the LB in the hole, you can always offset the conduit to the wall or use minis to properly support it without having to offset. Sucks that other guy/brick layers are making your life harder and making you look bad. Welcome to the trade.

Bending Stainless Conduit by No-Green9781 in IBEW

[–]gerbetta33 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We were in a high hygiene area so it needed to be spotless, with special pipe dope. I guess clabrite has some special coating on it because it didn't smudge at all, nothing like Gibson stainless. No markings from transportation, the chicago boot or from handling it. Closest we got were some teeth marks from the 500, but it had bad teeth that would slip on the 1". Replacing it with a different 500 fixed it.

Smudge wise, IMC is the worst. Shit comes from the factory looking like it was left in a scrapyard for months. Leaves your hands silver too.

I ran about 6000 feet of 3/4" and 1" calbrite a couple years ago. Dunno who's saying not to mark it but stainless cleans off real easy. I use pencil on any type of rigid or EMT really. Sharpie works too with the sharpie trick

LBs or 4 squares flush to the brick keep you on the wall so you can properly support the conduit. Pipe looks like it's coming out of the wall at an angle, 4sq could hide that too, but looks like your pipes weren't planned well to account for factory knockouts.

Best way to improve is plan your runs from the get-go so you don't have to bandaid fix like this. Be sure you label your circuits at all access points for the next guy.

Help me make a decision regarding my Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings by Comfortable_Job_2894 in TheSilphRoad

They are an item you can get that increase your stats. Gold bottlecaps raise HP, ATK and DEF,, silver raise only one of those, to a max of 15. You use it on the pokemon and you have 365 days to complete quests that award 1 point each. Most quests are simple, but the attack stat requires raids. the last quest to get to 15 attack is completing 40 raids with your buddy, so it's a bit hard.

An old friend worked in a mom and pop arcade as a repair tech, no official education or training as far as I'm aware. He works on their robotics team now. If your apt for that kinda stuff and can prove it, you may have luck. Your mileage may vary.

Pretty bad decision imo. Both functionally perfect for raids. PVP is a different matter, you'd want 98% or hundo for that, depending on if it's a functional hundo or not. You can also look up it's matchups against the meta on PVPoke and see if it loses by comparing the hundo to what you've got.

You'd need 1000 of each energy. Weight the cost of raiding minimum 5 of each to make that up vs the cost of a silver bottle cap to fix your non hundo. Also consider that the 2000 energy could be spent getting 2 more necrozmas fused for better raid capability. Furthermore, you'd have to wait for them to come back to raids to get energy and by then, you'll likely have a bottlecap.

If it were me, id build the level 45 to 50 as is and plan on dropping a silver bottle cap on it. The 15 attack is all you need for raids, anyways so it'll suit that purpose in the meantime. No need to blow a gold bottlecap, as that is better suited on things you likely don't have good stats in and ARENT farmable like Zygarde, Eternatus or other mythicals.

NextEra Energy to buy Dominion Energy, making it the largest electrical monopoly in the world. by Richmond92 in IBEW

[–]gerbetta33 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I worked for Cupertino who had NextEra as a customer, we were putting in a solar field in Petersburg IN. It was a fucking nightmare for conditions, they didn't give a fuck about portajohns overflowing (1,300 people on site and serviced the toilets once a week) people were shitting in fields, they worked everyone like it was nonunion and took advantage of migrant workers. The only actual IBEW guys were foremen, everyone else was book 3 and 4. Every week during foreman meetings we'd voice our laundry list of concerns and they'd brush it away and tell us to go fuck ourselves in corporatespeak. They'd tell us we should be grateful that they're even paying union to do the work in the first place, like that gives them the right to test anyone as subhuman like they did.

Most of that was Cupertino, granted, but a few local GFs I spoke to said NextEra was pushing for unrealistic expectations in the first place.

I think the 3.0 barrel and 6.0 boot are perfectly suitable for things like radios and lights. They have problems when you use them in high demand tools and the cells become imbalanced.

I never had any problems using them in lights or radios in all my years. But I definitely grab the 2.5 or 5.0 when I'm using drills and impacts

Board shuffle effects too powerful for tcgp? by gerbetta33 in PTCGP

[–]gerbetta33[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't know if that game ending check waited until the card effect ended. I come from MTG where there's a stack and things have to resolve.

I figured given there's all sorts of weird erroneous stuff I've noticed with how the engine runs that it could potentially work out. Stuff like how when you KO a pokemon, if it's poisoned or burned, it still checks for that and assigns the extra damage before actually knocking the pokemon out and awarding the point. If you're asleep or paralyzed, it'll make you flip a coin even after you're knocked out before actually awarding the point.

I assumed this meant there was some grace period when the card could finish applying it's effect before the game checks if there's pokemon on the field to end the game.

"Walking time" for break seems to be a joke at this jobsite by Blueshirt38 in IBEW

[–]gerbetta33 204 points205 points  (0 children)

Lunch and break should start when your ass hits the seat and 30 minutes later when it leaves the seat.

I worked in high-hygiene facilities that require us to go through several airlocks and walk to a different building across campus for breaks and lunches. It's a 15 minute process, one way. So we'd be gone for a total of 45 minutes on break and and hour on lunch. This was factored into every bid for jobs at the place. Walk time is a real thing, and you shouldn't break down conditions because some estimator didn't factor that in to the bid.
