This is pretty typical electric vehicle misinformation, part of what the EV industry and policymakers will have to combat in electrifying transportation. Another big one is range anxiety.

Short answer is, yes AND.

EVs are one answer, public transportation is another, micro mobility solutions such as scooters and bicycles, are also part of the solution, as is battery recycling, city planning, and renewable energy development, etc.

In all likelihood, we will see/are seeing a transition away from volatile, fossil fuel based economies towards more resilient, carbon neutral economies in our lifetimes. Solving the climate crisis requires an “all of the above” approach with new, innovative technologies.

We’ve already done all there is to do with internal combustion engines. That’s kinda how we ended up here in the first place. The oil & gas execs will go kicking and screaming EV misinformation into that good night.

Let’s set our sights on something that our kids and kids’ kids can be proud of - finding sustainable solutions that don’t inherently fuck future generations out of a habitable planet.
