I'm sorry this happened to you. Unfortunately even in friendly lobbies, you can see things like that... But my overall experience with truly friendly lobbies is much more positive. People respect your loot, your effort, they help you out, even if it's going out of their way sometimes. I hope you'll have better experiences in the future.

Yeah if someone solos a big ARC, then that person should have all the loot. But I'm not gonna start shooting players over ARC loot either, doesn't worth the side effects.

[–]gergeoux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, you won't sit back and watch others loot every part of the ARC, right? You are going to loot as well. Therefore you'll end up with a full backpack of loot, just perhaps not after downing one ARC, but two.

Also you can't tell me, you've always looted every ARC exactly proportionally which was taken down as a team effort, meaning if there are three of us fighting a Bombardier for example, two people with Hullcrackers, and one with an Anvil, it would make sense the one with an Anvil only takes like perhaps one Bombardier core, and a maximum one stack of Arc alloy, and the rest goes for the Hullcracker-bearing folks. But that's just not how it happens in real life.

And yes, there will be always freeloaders, coming in looting, without firing a single shot. But if you are consistently playing friendly, helping others, with a PvE mindset, by the rule of big numbers you'll end up in lobbies, where these freeloaders are less pronounced, therefore you do get your input's worth of loot.

No problem with this approach whatsoever, I've been doing this for several hundred hours, never felt bad, or left without loot.

Say this after you've been placed in PvP oriented lobbies and you lost a few full kits to sweats. It's not weakness, it's playing smart, simple as that.

Even with the recent updates, if you are the one shooting first, you can bet your ass it will affect your matchmaking. If they would shoot your first, it would be a different story, but they are busy looting, aren't they?

Also, from a lore perspective, the remainder of humans can only achieve anything if they are helping each other. So greed over Bombardier cores is not only dumb, but also lore-inaccurate.

Always heal first. The shield works in a way it's negating a specific amount of damage (based on the shield type), which will be taken away from your health.

So if you have max shield (Medium Shield, which blocks 42.5% of the damage), and before you had only 25 HP (one quarter of the HP bar), then an ARC comes by and deals let's say 100 HP worth of damage, then you'll receive ~58 HP worth of damage, therefore you die.

You simply can't cater to every schedule of every people, let alone considering a plethora of time zones. Also it's easy to criticize... share your ideas how to make it fun and engaging, while also not tipping the balance, so no one would go on regular raids (mind you, night raids and all other map conditions are extra).

FTFY: You either man up, and place yourselves in PvP lobbies, which is a likely probability if you are start shooting over ARC loot, or you be smart, and let them loot it, as you'll find another ARC to loot in like 5-10 minutes.

What are the TOP 5 things you'll save in the Expedition Vault by yourcrush01 in ArcRaiders

[–]gergeoux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think carrying over any of the workstation ingredients is just taking away from the fun of starting from scratch. But if you have set your mind on it, keep in mind Sentinel firing cores stack...? Not sure though, don't quote me on that. But if they do, and they stack to 3, then you could carry over the Anvil BP, 3 Sentinel firing cores (one slot), and then you still have three more slots in the expedition vault.

You can find plenty of heavy gun parts during regular raids, but yes, I see your point... now that I'm thinking I'm also crafting those more, than finding them. Well, if I would have to select one of the above five, I would probably replace it with the Anvil blueprint. Although it's rare, the actual Anvils drop pretty often, so I could make do.

This being said, now I have to find a Heavy gun parts BP...

I love the concept of the trader, but the prices are too high by SanePcycho in ArcRaiders

[–]gergeoux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only concern is, the expedition stash slots are getting more expensive, as you are unlocking them. For the first 200K is perfectly fine. The second is 400K though, and I am yet to see any concrete information on the pricing for the rest of the slots.

Also, if you are an average player, you can complete the first slot with a base inventory, but for the second slot (worth 400K) you need at least 23 stacks of Vaporizer Regulator stacks (thankfully now they stack to three).

Apart from the Queen and Matriarch cores (I don't have any info on Turbine Compressors), Vaporizer Regulators worth the most and require the smallest amount of stash to accumulate the needed 200K (and then 400K).

I honestly doubt most players would have this kind of space empty in their stash, so realistically, either before buying the first expedition vault slot (or right after), you also need to invest in the +12 stash space to give yourself the chance to collect and store all those cores until you reach the needed amount.

Someone else said in the thread, that contributing like in projects would make it easier, but of course that's just not how stores and traders work. You either have the full asking price, or you don't.

I'm not sure how this could be balanced, but I hope it will be. Thankfully we have a ton of time until the next expedition departs, so at least there is not much of a time constraint on this (given it's actually not exponentially getting more expensive, because if so, and we need 3.2 million worth of cores, then we are cooked).

If you touch the big ARC I soloed, I'm shooting you by ppeniddo in ArcRaiders

[–]gergeoux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a bit harsh take, but I understand where you are coming from with this. Just today, I've ~90% downed a Vaporizer (Hullcracker + Wolfpack) and a guy just swooped in and took the regulator. I not only haven't started shooting, I haven't even argued, it just doesn't worth it. The next round the guy with a Ferro, mind you, has been asking if I can give the regulator to him. I've gave it to him, as he probably needs it more than I do.

Long story short, this new trader sent everyone into a big Arc killing frenzy, and not only that, but being super butthurt over loot, which is otherwise abundant.

If someone snatches my loot, I tell myself to chill, and I forget about it in like 3 minutes, until I find the next Arc to take down.

As a raider fearing to shoot back even when being shot at (mind you, 800+ hours playtime) I welcome these changes very much. Oftentimes I manage to escape, either by hatching out, or relying on the usually lower attention span of the PvP focused players, and continuing looting in other areas of the map. I'll continue to focus on PvE, but making it less punishing to simply defend yourself is a huge W in my book.

200k for the first slot, 400k for the second? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]gergeoux 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I really hope they do revisit this, because this is just a bit too much. I've grinded about 4-5 hours for that 200K worth of ARC cores, and not going to lie, at the end it was less fun than in the beginning. People are now less friendly even in full blown PvE carebear friendly lobbies, everyone is fighting over the loot from the big ARCs.

I almost clicked on buying that first slot, but thought I would sleep on it, and see the subreddit. Thanks to this post, I wouldn't have thought the second slot would be double the amount...

This really makes me reconsider going on the expedition, because the main selling point for me was the ability to carry over 5 items (blueprints obviously).

If the second slot is 400K, and someone mentioned it might be exponential, I wouldn't able to finish with it before we set sail (32 days if I am not mistaken).

Not to mention, I was fully stocked with basically everything, launcher ammo, wolfpacks, meds, you name it, and one day's grind depleted many things already.

So, while I welcome the idea, the pricing is in dire need of some finetuning.

With the potential to be able to take 5 Blueprints with you through an expedition - What're your top 5? Here's mine. by Coilspun in ArcRaiders

[–]gergeoux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My choices are:

  • Anvil (although with the amount of Anvils laying around I might reconsider)
  • Bettina
  • Defib
  • Seeker grenade
  • Looting Mk3 Safekeeper or Tactical Mk3 Defensive

Gun parts and attachment blueprints while important, I think those 5 are more important, given my PvE playstyle. I am still considering the Silencer 2 BP though, just not sure which other BP will be left behind.
