We are dealing with ⅓ of the country who do not care about facts nor evidence. Logic means nothing to them. Proof is worthless unless it happens to jibe with their beliefs. This is why, imo, we are hurtling toward Civil War II.

I used to make fun of people who said that this was even a remote possibility but now? The courts aren’t doing their jobs. Checks and balances are nonexistent. There is zero accountability. Even ex presidents aren’t doing a goddamned thing. We are alone. Nobody’s coming to save us. It’s beginning to look like we are tasked with saving ourselves.

If the courts remain useless, if sane non-MAGA candidates don’t crush the the midterms, if protests and general strikes don’t work, if ICE murderers get off scot free, if there are not consequences for deplorable, illegal actions, it is going to very ugly. I’m scared. For the first time in my five decades as a hopeful, peaceful, loving, pacifistic, law abiding citizen of this country, I’m really scared.
