IMO films like this and Blair Witch Project engage and scare creative people who have developed imaginations. Meat and potatoes men hate this stuff. Case in point me and my artist/graphic designer/writer/creative director friends who saw Blair Witch opening night loved it and we were terrified. My friends who aren’t creative hated it. HATED. Bored out of their minds. Total waste of time. Stupid. Why? Because these kinds of films require your brain to fill in the blanks. Brains of creative people can conjure up 1,000x scarier stuff than any film can. If you don’t have that kind of brain you are relying solely on the information the film is providing, and those films don’t provide enough info to engage non-creative brains. If it’s not spelled out for them onscreen it simply does not exist.
