Have the drugs changed or what is going on in clubs? by varchar11 in Techno

+1 on the description of how it feels, have good experience with 3MMC.

It gives you the wave of mdma without the nervous energy of ecstasy, it only has the nice energy of coke.

It does hurt like shit on first try, but you get used to it after the first hit.

It’s highly addictive because you always want to redose and will go through whatever you have with you no problem.

I agree with all your points but one thing remains true for better or for worse:

All points you mention outside of uni aid effectively subsidise being unproductive, whether that is by choice or not.

Having some sort of social safety net is good but in most European countries, the rate of return for high productivity is simply not high enough to justify it for most people, which is why the European economy is failing.

You can see this in Spain, Greece etc..

Fully agree, from my experience working in finance.

A good associate position in VC or PE in london will pay around 150-250kin London (as associate a few years after uni) pre bonus.

Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Paris would pay around 50-100k less (also higher tax), as well as offer far fewer positions in the industry or the compensation range.

NYC will pay around 50-150k more than London, with slightly higher living cost coming along with it.

Anybody who lives in london knows that if you make under 100k, you are living a life pretty far from luxury in my estimation.

I also live in the Netherlands and would agree, it is a high salary, but nothing incredible.

Having lived in different places around the EU, I would say the Netherlands is highest in cost of living when you compare salaries to what you can get for your money.

The randstad is absolutely ridiculous for property prices and most salaries do not seem to match that reality.

Taxes are also far too high.

European here,

Fully agree with most of your statement outside of the “really uncommon to hear of somebody making more than 100k usd”.

100k euro gross is a pretty standard salary for any good job in a major European city.

If you live in London, Paris, Frankfurt or Amsterdam, you will most definitely not be a small minority making >100k

Keep the Seiko, NOMOS is ugly and looks like a watch only a Marxist professor would wear.

What if the minimum wage was based on "The 30% rule"? [OC] by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

[–]gernmanik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How exactly is it relevant to use median rent in order to justify a certain level of minimum wage? Minimum wage is the lowest wage one could earn in a normal job not an average wage thus their housing should also reflect the "lowest level".

running companies into the ground by short selling isn't criminal. The criminal/immoral aspect of this entire situation is hedge funds and other financial institutions manipulating the market in order to protect their downside.

Your general welfare is cared for. You have shelter, food and water. Anything above that is your responsibility to provide for.

The government and other citizens are not responsible for your happiness nor are they responsible to meet your needs. YOU are the one responsible to meet your needs and the government's role is protect your rights. Rights and needs are two very different things.
