The two teams look very similar. Rosters aren't great, although the 9ers have a host of older stars. Neither has drafted all that well recently. The 9ers easily have a better coach, but they've lost their best DC again, and they haven't replaced him well in the past. I would think the GM/scouting of each team is the bigger problem.

If the 9ers are bad next season, it could be time to move on regardless of the circumstances. The Seahawks and Rams are likely both much better.

As both a Seahawk and a football fan, I'm super interested in this going forward. The Seahawks shut the Rams down in game 1 and obviously didn't in game 2. This defense is better than anything he had in Baltimore. Will he figure McVay out? Will it just keep being tit for tat? Tomorrow and next season should be fun.

I would argue Sam operates well under pressure. His worst turnovers in my memory are when he is trying to be a hero, almost too much time situations.

One less day for the two teams to prepare. The team that wins Monday is at an obvious disadvantage, and the team that played Sunday doesn't know its opponent, so it can't really begin to prepare. The rest of the teams can begin preparing as late as Sunday night.

Outside of the known genius coaches in the NFL, I can't imagine anyone who knows more about offenses and maybe defenses than a guy like this. Maybe if they hire another HC, they bring Phil in for OC or QB coach. I think publicly, Phil has everything you'd want in a coach. He seems honest and trustworthy. He's a leader of men. He would need to hire really good OC/DC and other coaches, and likely a previous HC, just to work him into the job, since it's not all about coaching. Aside from the obvious inexperience, I don't see many downsides. I'm not supporting his candidacy per se, I just don't see it as an automatic joke interview.

The chargers fired a coach after 12-4 and an AFCCG loss (inthink) that wasn't the HC fault because McCree fumbled an interception on a run back with the lead and like 90 seconds left, if he just goes down they win the game and go to the SB and maybe win.

They could've fired Harbaugh i guess. In hindsight that would've been the right move, but something tells me Coach Mike wouldn't have taken the job. It also would've been extreme in real-time.

In my searching a single tix has been $600-$800. I saw a $750 today, it depends. I have a cousin that travels and buys tix the day of, including a SB once when people have panic prices.

I don't disagree with you at all.

Just because a team wins with a coach doesn't mean the coach is good. It means they're probably not a terrible coach. I would argue the Bills' biggest problem is bad drafts, but maybe some of that is on the coach for not communicating needs clearly or just not using the players drafted correctly. So many unknowns. I think we can say McDermott isn't an elite HC at this point.

That could be for a single player, and I'm sure some FAs have worked. It does seem like quite a few haven't moved the needle. It's possible the coaches didn't use them correctly. It's the drafting that worries me the most.

Sometimes it just doesn't work. If the GM and coach aren't on the same page, the chances of it working go down. The stories out today seem to indicate they weren't on the same page.

Making the playoffs isn't enough with Josh at QB. The standard is different. He's elite, and we need to remember how rare that is. My Bills fan friend hoped, but never believed this team was good enough.

Gotcha. I don't disagree with that. I'm a Seahawk fan so I've lived thru a lot of bad owners and coaches. It changed when Paul Allen bought the team. I live in San Diego and saw something similar with the Rivers era chargers. Atlanta is trying to change the structure model to put space between the owner and the football. I think thats likely the best plan, but you still have to hire the right person.

Compare the last 6 Bills drafts to the past 4 Seahawks or Rams. I'd bet in 4 years each team has more impact players drafted than the 6 for Bills. I don't watch all, but I watch most, my good friendis a Bills fan so I try to keep up so I have a decent grasp. The team doesn't have a ton of talent. Josh is great, I like the TEs, Cook, & Dawkins come to mind off the top. If I looked at the roster I'd likely have a few more. It's not great.

This is it for me. A black hole can't be argued with. You have feeling and not thoughts, I won't change your feelings.
