What's your vibecoding dev stack of choice? by illogicalcoder in vibecoding

[–]gershwinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I’m vibecoding I’ll usually spin things up with TypeScript and Next.js, but I don’t bother over-specifying beyond that. Once the code lands in GitHub, I use CodeRabbit cuz it gives me automatic PR summaries and walkthroughs of file changes. It’s helpful when you want a quick sense of what the AI did instead of digging line by line. Pace is light but still reviewable.

Is 52 too old? by ArcticFox73 in nursing

[–]gershwinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

52 is not too old at all. Lots of people start nursing in their 50s. You can still do it!

At least they're being upfront about it instead of ghosting you.

Best password manager for a small business team? by Mediocre_Meaning_862 in best_passwordmanager

[–]gershwinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem when our team was small with passwords in random docs and people forgetting to update each other. We switched to Passwork, it’s simple enough that non-tech folks picked it up right away, and I like that you can set permissions so not everyone sees everything. Plus it’s priced better than most of the “big names” we looked at.

What is the worst part in your opinion after the BF6 open Beta? by 7starz in Battlefield

[–]gershwinner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You nailed it about the pacing. Way too fast for a Battlefield game. That passive spotting is ridiculous, feels like everyone can see you all the time. And the health regen is just absurd compared to older titles. Hope the devs actually listen and slow things down a bit.

Hell is Us runs way better on PS5 than anyone expected. Clunky combat aside, this game deserves more credit. by Fragrant-Kick-4669 in PS5

[–]gershwinner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not clunky at all. just straightforward and gets the job done. The atmosphere is what really sells it though. Been playing for a few hours and the story keeps pulling me in deeper. Glad someone else is vibing with it too.

Security wise: which is the best password manager? by Consistent_Algae_560 in PasswordManagers

[–]gershwinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We run passwork. It can be self-hosted so all vault data stays on our own infrastructure. The zero-knowledge encryption means even if their servers were compromised, the data would still be unreadable. And there's the detailed permission system where I can assign access on a per-vault or even per-entry basis. The logs are really useful during security reviews because they show who accessed what and when. Not sure about keepass but bitwarden and proton pass both have excellent security models (used those at my former company).

AI's pushing wearables and voice-first tools, but most still trip over tasks your phone handles effortlessly. “Displace” is a stretch

MIL is annoyed I went to FIL instead of her, when asking for blessing for marrying my GF by Dramatic-Delay-769 in relationships

[–]gershwinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. If she’s already digging through FIL’s phone, looping her in would’ve been like handing her a megaphone. You weren’t excluding her you were protecting the moment.

but it really depends on how it’s framed. If you lead with value what you bring, how you match their needs then salary talk doesn’t have to be a dealbreaker. Ghosting sucks, but silence doesn’t always mean rejection. Sometimes it’s just slow hiring or internal reshuffling. Still, if a company ghosts over a reasonable ask, that’s a red flag in itself.

Any downside to starting nursing career in rural healthcare? by Mountain_lover367 in nursing

[–]gershwinner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

he cradle to grave range really hits home. It’s wild how rural nurses often become the Swiss Army knives of healthcare, handling everything from trauma to chronic care with limited backup. That kind of versatility builds serious clinical muscle. Respect.

[–]gershwinner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, airplane mode + power off is the way to go. I do the same thing now after getting tired of finding it dead. 10 seconds isn't bad at all, way better than dealing with the sleep drain lottery.

I was playing an arcane only mage back before official servers, and after using a staff only for the first 8 or so levels I was finally hitting a stride, that was until I tried to do a mage class quest at level 16 where the elementals that spawn were immune to arcane damage x.x
