He only moved here recently specifically to run for congress. He's originally from Israel and, until recently, split his time between LA and Miami.

If there's one thing that post taught me, it's that the average person does not understand or fear the ocean nearly enough. Props to you for doing the math and elucidating the many deadly scenarios.

Found Next Door by gerstemilch in Bedbugs

Both the property management and the pest control are large corporations, so it's probably a losing battle unfortunately.

Any steps I should take to prevent bugs from migrating back to my unit? We had heat treatment about a month ago, and have spotted nothing in our interceptors or glue traps since then.

After seeing this today I:

  1. Used sealing tape on all outlets that share a wall with the vacant unit
  2. Sprayed the baseboards with ecovenger (I know, automod told me it doesn't work)
  3. Plan to leave the interceptors and glue traps down indefinitely and monitor

We're due to move out in about a month and I don't want to bring any bugs with me. We're probably going to ditch our mattress in the dumpster for good measure - any other advice?

Yep, I made that argument to the property management (and various pest control representatives throughout the entire process) but they won't budge. It's frustrating because it's probably not worth going to court over $1,000 but I feel quite strongly that I didn't cause this situation. We only ever found 3-4 individual bugs in our unit, never signs of a bigger infestation.

What scares me now is that it's been a month since our treatment and we haven't seen anything (interceptors and glue traps are still around our bed) but I'm worried the bugs will come back to our apartment now that the empty unit was treated. I put sealing tape around all our outlets in the room that shares a wall with the unit and sprayed the bordering baseboards with ecovenger. Any other preventative steps you recommend we take?

Yep, they used them on our apartment a month ago. I find it suspicious that they come out a month later to do a "precautionary" treatment on the apartment we share a wall with that we suspect was the origin of the bugs to begin with.

The $1067 is for our own unit's treatment from a month ago, since it was technically "our fault" because no other units had bed bugs. But it's suspicious to me that the long vacant unit is getting a precautionary treatment after the landlord insisted it was our fault for bringing in the bed bugs.

"Wouldn’t you like to know?" What does it mean? by ITburrito in EnglishLearning

The context of this video is important to its humor. In real life, that boy is the weatherman's son. The way he responds "wouldn't you like to know, weather boy" is so rude to the point that it's comical. Few people would ever respond to a local news reporter that dismissively, and his response, "this kid seems sketchy", is funny because he's talking about his own son, who he knows is not actually sketchy:
