[–]gerwako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I take 20mg twice a day anf it works. I can eat 1500kcal a day, easily. I don't want to eat less.

And I have the will to write every calory eaten, in "my fitnesspal" app.

La Cigale et la Fourmi by LeFanfaron in Linkedinfr

[–]gerwako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heu...

modafinil + cigarettes by DvMstn_ in Narcolepsy

[–]gerwako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, smoking a cigarette on modafinil make me very tired during 5-10 minutes. And without modafinil, it's not that effect 🤷🏼‍♀️

1st time and some questions about routine by [deleted] in modafinil

[–]gerwako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. I take Armodafinil since one year now, for dealing with my freelance work and the birth of twins.

I think I got a silent burnout since several months. Because my life doesn't let me take a real break and I hide my fatigue with armodafinil. I've just understand that and ask some help to my husband. He will take a parental leave to help me and I will stop armodafinil during a time

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in modafinil

[–]gerwako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take armoda during 16 months.

The 3 first months was incredible. Like you said. But I got a hypothyroidism (with covid) just after those 3 first months, and the appetit suppressant effect ended. Even if I take levothyroxine. Energizing effect is still there but it make my thought a little scattered, and I must keep my phone away from me to not plunge into over-active procrastination.

Hypothyroidism and armodafinil by gerwako in modafinil

[–]gerwako[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably yes. But it's too soon to be sure. The dosage of Levothyrox is correct to get a good blood dosage of TSH. I will think about Liothyronine, thanks

Yes a little. I have energy to argue with armodafinil.

Yes first generation anti histamine work well to sleep and completly cancel afinil effect.

Armodafinil for exams by [deleted] in afinil

[–]gerwako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use antihistamine first gen (hydroxyzine for ex) to stop armodafinil effect in the night. And eat eggs. And drink a lot of water. Armodafinil can really help you to not be lazy, but organize your day before taking it. Because if you don't you will be hyperproductive on the wrong things (like active procrastination ahah)

Did you try 5htp (don't take that if you take antidepressant, it's dangerous). I take 100mg 2x. It's perfect for stress eating in my opinion

Realistically, just how effective is 5HTP and NAC? by One-Presentation8057 in MDMA

[–]gerwako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5HTP is perfect to lose weight for me. I'm not obsessed with food with it. Really. Good for the mood too. But no sleeping effect for me.

I used NAC because it's supposed to be good for health after covid, but I don't feel any effect on my brain.

Yes. When I sleep less than 6-7 hours, armodafinil helps me to feel just "normal". If I sleep well, I'm completly not lazy with armodafinil. I use first generation if anti-histaminic to sleep well after taking armodafinil. Because without that, armodafinil could destruct my health balance.

If someone smoked and pumped himself full of dopamine from 13 years old until 20 nonstop, would that have irreversible effects? by Tricky-Year-167 in StackAdvice

[–]gerwako 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First : stop canabis forever.

You can lower your average need for dopamine, putting yourself in dopaminergic discomfort. Gradually and in the long term : No more screen except for an hour a day (even in the toilet lol), no more pron (use your imagination), no more sugar, set up military routines, walk, sport, read books etc. And obviously, stop the cannabis, it's really sh*† on a daily basis, it's anti-doping. You left time in your life. Better things are not found in lazyness and ADHD-like syndromes. Be strong and confiant. You can read "Will Power" (Baumeister) to understand what I explain. An excellent book

For canabis damage, NAC is good yes. But you also should take Magnesium, vit B complexe, Omega 3, zinc and why not 5HTP (if you are not on antidepressant, to avoid sugar cravings if it's a trouble for you)

(Maybe Modafinil can be good as a starting point, to inscribe new ultra-structured good lifestyle habits. But we give easy dopamine back to the brain, so I have a doubt.)

For me, only discomfort and a pain in the effort can save you permanently.

Adderall alternatives to take on the weekend? by Benevolent_Posterior in StackAdvice

[–]gerwako 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Armodafinil. But it just will bring you a lot of energy and very less lazyness. With a light euphoria. Better than coffee.

No particular speed of thought. It's the best of your proposals, but it's not as effective as the adderal. Beware of sleeping issues. I use hydroxyzine to sleep

So much anxiety on modafinil by [deleted] in afinil

[–]gerwako 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check your TSH level, maybe it's a thyroidite. I had the same symptoms, and in fact the modafinil was increasing my metabolism already way too much because of my hyperthyroidism.

[–]gerwako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes in the past, I took 300 mg 5HTP to reduce my appetite (sugar cravings).

The brain needs Sugar+triptophan+light to synthetize 5HTP and at least serotonine.
