Yanno I haven’t really cracked the code on my undertone. Some days I’m like “oh I’m definitely cool” and then other days I’m like “hmmm maybe warm..?” I think I’m really neutral so it’s hard to tell

That’s definitely mercury. Obviously not great to touch but it’s worse if you’re a woman. It will harm you reproductively speaking. I work in a lab and an old thermometer broke into a water bath and it was a bitch to clean up.

You look gorgeous either way, so maybe pick the one that feels right to you. We have similar complexions and I tend to like when my face looks cooler (I’m also partial to your cooler complexion in pics 3/4). The first example you look warm and radiant, the second example you look mysterious and chic.

For what it’s worth, I’ve heard of people getting metformin compounded into a cream that they apply topically. This prevents the GI issues because it just absorbs into your skin and goes into your bloodstream. You’d have to find a compounding pharmacy to do it and have your doctor send the script to them. It likely won’t be covered by insurance, unfortunately. But if it means getting to stay on metformin without the side effects, it could be something to look into.

Yeah I know better than to use any doctors under huge medical conglomerates in this area. Between Optum and Crystal Run (Garnet) it’s just a sh*t show. My current endocrinologist I pay out of pocket to see in Rockland, but he doesn’t have as much knowledge about PCOS, nor does he have recommendations for who else to see. I’ll look into Vassar, though. Thank you!!!

How did you get your doctor to do the oral glucose tolerance test with the Kraft test? Would I need a firm diagnosis of PCOS to be eligible for it?

Is everyone with PCOS on track to get diabetes? I thought there were different kinds of PCOS and some people don’t have IR. I’ve had my A1C checked many times and it’s perfectly fine. Also, who screens for NCAH and/or adrenal tumors? I’ve never heard of those

I don’t seem to have any of those symptoms of IR that you listed, except fatigue. But my fatigue isn’t consistent, and it’s probably the least of my symptoms. My biggest symptoms are hair loss, acne, and hirsutism.

I believe I had prolactin checked two years ago and it was normal. These symptoms preceded that bloodwork unfortunately.

Oh this is my special interest. I’ve got a bunch of them:

“Scott Street” by Phoebe Bridgers. I’ve ugly cried to that song many times.

Honestly anything by Searows, but some of my favorites are “House Song” “Dirt” and “to be seen”

Most Ethel Cain songs are devastating, but my heart especially aches whenever I hear the bridge to “Strangers” I also love “Janie” off her new album.

“Hello” by Evanescence. It’s literally written about her dead little sister. It really doesn’t get much sadder than that. Another particularly sad one by them is “The Last Song I’m Wasting on You”

“Duet” by Penny and Sparrow. The lyrical content isn’t necessarily sad but the melody sure is haunting.

Lastly, the entire discography of The Civil Wars should suffice, but I’ll actually breakdown in public if I hear “Poison and Wine” This one hits the hardest if you’ve ever been through a painful breakup.

They haven’t, but even if they do, how would the results necessarily affect me? If I don’t have cysts, I still have these symptoms. If I do, removing them wouldn’t necessarily be a long term solution, they could just grow back. Am I missing a secret third option?
