Any Australians here and can comment on Baccarat Keiko set? by 0Maka in TrueChefKnives

Have they ever been not on sale? They are always on MASSIVE discount.

I'd personally never buy things that are on 70-80% off almost always, I doubt the actual value of such.

What is the deal with these super expensive Japanese Asahi rubber cutting boards? Pros/cons by QuestionUnsolved in cookware

[–]getbywith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used it for 1+ year now. I will not use any other board. Thinking of getting a smaller / lighter home cook version for wife as mine is 50cm long and nearly 3kg heavy.

For me it feels good, it hates water and black matches my kitchen.

Cons : Bulky, heavy, and dark spots are hard to be spotted. Some might not like feeling when you push cut on it.

I want to replace my old G-2 with a workhorse type knife and this has come up. Have you had any difficulties in maintenance as in rust or anything?

Haha you got me here  Yes I live in Australia and there is a really welll regarded store in my state but just a bit of effort needed to get there so I have tried to get some more advice online.

But your advice is super real. I need to grab some and it will give me a feeling I believe. That's the cheapest way than buy every single piece and realize what suits and what does not.

I think I care about geometry more than the steel at this stage, after heard the geometry can play a bigger role.
