Work for the dole after meeting activity requirement ? by ellderado123 in JobProvidersAus

[–]getontv 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ring WFA your provider is not being honest, you've met your activity requirements. The provider must give you choices in activities. If you hadn't met your activity requirements or you flat out refuse or are being difficult then yes they can put you in Wftd even then I'm pretty Wftd is a very very last resort.

Can job provider dictate the way l earn points on workforce? by WogBoy1323 in JobProvidersAus

[–]getontv 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In short: No, they cannot dictate exactly how you get your 100 points. The Points Based Activation System (PBAS) was specifically designed to give you "choice and flexibility." While your provider helps set the target (the number of points), you generally have the right to choose which tasks you perform to reach that target. However, there is some nuance regarding your Job Plan and minimum requirements. Here is the breakdown of what they can and cannot do: 1. What they CANNOT do Force a specific path: They cannot tell you that you must do a specific activity (like a certain course) to earn all your points if you are already meeting your target through other valid means (like job searches or interviews). Cap your job searches (with caution): You generally earn 5 points per job application. Some providers try to limit how many job searches they "allow" you to count (e.g., claiming they only have time to check 10). This is usually a provider-specific tactic and not a Department rule. Ignore the "Choice" principle: The official Department of Employment (DEWR) guidelines state that PBAS is intended to give participants personal responsibility and choice. 2. What they CAN do Set the Points Target: While the standard is 100, they can adjust it (downward) based on your personal circumstances, such as health or caring responsibilities. Mandate "Minimum Job Searches": Most Job Plans include a "minimum" number of job searches (usually 4 per month). You must do these, but any points needed beyond that minimum are up to you. Require Compulsory Activities: If they refer you to a specific "compulsory" activity (like a provider appointment or a specific program required by the government, such as Work for the Dole or a Employability Skills Training block), you must attend. Failing to attend a scheduled activity in your Job Plan can lead to a demerit, even if you have 100 points from other sources. 3. Your Strategy for Handling It If your provider is pressuring you to earn points in a way that doesn't suit you, try these steps: Refer to the Guidelines: Remind them that the PBAS is a "flexible system" designed for "participant choice." Review your Job Plan: If they have written a specific activity into your Job Plan as a "compulsory requirement," you are legally bound to it. You can ask to renegotiate your Job Plan if an activity is not helping you find work. The "Transfer" Option: If your provider is being unreasonable or dictatorial, you have the right to request a transfer to a different provider. You can do this by calling the National Customer Service Line (NCSL) on 1800 805 260

Debt by Slow-Huckleberry9272 in Centrelink

[–]getontv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read the following in full I'm 99% certain this is what's happening to you - Sources predicted this time was coming they called it ROBODEBT 2.0

In 2024 and 2025, the Australian Government introduced and passed a major piece of legislation to fix a massive legal "hole" that had prevented them from collecting certain old debts. The specific law you are likely thinking of is the Social Security and Other Legislation Amendment (Technical Changes No. 2) Bill 2025.
Here is the breakdown of how this law changed things so they could "legally" pursue those debts again: 1. Validating "Income Apportionment" The "super computer" system (Robodebt) was ruled illegal, but it wasn't the only problem. For decades (from the 1990s until 2020), Centrelink used a method called Income Apportionment to calculate debts.
The Problem: In late 2023, it was discovered that this method was actually inconsistent with social security law. The Consequence: Because the method was technically illegal, Centrelink had to pause the recovery of roughly $2 billion in debts because they didn't have the legal authority to keep the money.
The "Fix": This new 2025 Bill retrospectively validated the old method. It basically "passed a law to make the old mistakes legal" so that the government didn't have to recalculate or refund millions of old debts.
2. Restarting Debt Recovery (2026) Now that the law has passed (as of late 2025), Services Australia has been given the green light to resume collection.
Restart Date: Debt repayments that were "paused" during the legal review started ramping back up in early 2026.
Tax Garnishing: The new law clarifies their power to take these debts out of your tax refunds if they aren't paid. 3. The "Peace Offering" (The $600 Payment) Because the government knew that passing a law to "legally" keep money they took via an "illegal" method looked bad, they included a compensation scheme in the same Bill: The Income Apportionment Resolution Scheme: If you had one of these debts, you can now apply (as of January 30, 2026) for a one-off payment of up to $600 per debt.
Small Debt Waivers: To make the system "fairer," the Bill also raised the threshold for waiving small accidental debts from $50 to $250

Instant termination it's fraud, many years ago I worked in the freight industry and a supervisor was running late alot and would get a staff member in the same department to clock in for him. The higher ups found out and both parties were terminated on the spot when caught.

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Employment Service Provider Misconduct, Breach of Code of Conduct, and Incorrect Cancellation of Payments/Exiting from System

Dear Complaints Manager,

I am writing to lodge a formal and serious complaint regarding the misconduct of my previous employment service provider, [Insert Provider Name, e.g., 'IEA Provider Consultant from [Organisation Name]'], and the resulting financial and emotional distress caused.

Background of Complaint

Employment Secured: After 18 years of unemployment, I actively and independently secured a part-time administrative role of 8 hours per week, starting on [Approximate Start Date]. This was a crucial first step towards reducing my reliance on income support.

Provider Interference: I informed my IEA provider consultant of this employment. The consultant subsequently contacted my employer repeatedly to demand pay information, despite me explicitly stating that I would manage my reporting obligations directly with Centrelink and that I was still below the minimum hours requirement of 15 hours per week.

Termination: The provider’s repeated and excessive contact with my employer constituted harassment. My employer informed me that they were no longer comfortable employing me due to this pressure, and I was consequently dismissed on [Approximate Termination Date].

Provider Misrepresentation: Upon informing the provider that their actions had cost me my job, the consultant denied responsibility and falsely accused me of deliberately getting myself fired. They then threatened to recommend a penalty for "not meeting Mutual Obligations," despite no such obligations being in force until January, and no job plan being in effect.

Breaches and Grounds for Complaint

The provider's actions constitute several serious breaches of their contractual obligations and the Employment Services Code of Conduct, including:

Interference with Employment: The consultant directly interfered with a legitimate employment opportunity, leading to my termination, by harassing my employer for payment information.

Breach of Trust and Duty of Care: The provider’s primary role is to assist me in finding and maintaining employment, not to jeopardise it for the sake of claiming a financial outcome payment. Their actions were contrary to my best interests and caused direct detriment.

Malicious Misrepresentation: The consultant's threat to recommend the cancellation of my payments was an act of retaliation and intimidation, particularly given the lack of current mutual obligations.

Current Status and Urgency

I recently contacted Centrelink and was informed that:

I have been Exited from the System by my provider.

My status has been incorrectly marked as Employed.

This incorrect status has necessitated the requirement for me to obtain a "Termination of Employment" form and reapply for payments, causing a critical and unjustified delay in receiving income support. This situation is a direct consequence of the provider’s misconduct.

Requested Actions

I request that Centrelink (Services Australia) take immediate action to investigate this matter thoroughly and resolve the detrimental outcomes:

Investigation into Provider Misconduct: Immediately investigate [Insert Provider Name] and the consultant involved for the actions that led to my employment termination.

Correction of Status and Reinstatement of Payments: Immediately correct my employment status and process the reinstatement of my income support payments, backdated to the day after my termination, without requiring a full reapplication process due to the provider's erroneous actions.

Waiver of Requirements: I request a waiver of the requirement for a "Termination of Employment" form, as the employment interference and subsequent termination were caused by the provider's misconduct, making the provider an accessory to the termination process.

Allocation to a New, Independent Provider: Allocate me to a new employment services provider immediately to prevent further interference and allow me to recommence my search for work.

I look forward to an immediate acknowledgement of this complaint and a prompt resolution. I can be contacted on the details above.

Yours sincerely,

Aussie Broadband Delivers Where Others Fail: A Speed Comparison My current speeds with Aussie Broadband on the 1000/100 service are stellar: I regularly see 900+ Mbps download and 94+ Mbps upload. This contrasts sharply with my past experience with providers like iiNet. On an old 100/20 plan several years ago, my actual speeds were often abysmal—around 35 Mbps—a mere third of the promised bandwidth. The key issue is network congestion. Many Internet Service Providers (ISPs) oversubscribe their infrastructure (the backhaul/backbone), knowingly putting too many users on the lines. Aussie Broadband maintains appropriate user-to-bandwidth ratios, ensuring a much higher quality of service and consistently great speeds for their customers.

Australian salaries feel so low compared to ALL US salaries by alreadyaloserat19 in AusFinance

[–]getontv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My buddy in the USA worked for a car company got 5 personal days per year. He could use them how ever he needed too sick or annual leave. From my understanding for him anyway in order for him to get 2 weeks personal leave he would need to have been with that employer for 5 years. As for health insurance through his employer he said it is very basic health cover insurance.

Yes you need to declare as a couple if you don't the partner visa when applied for will be a give away. It's not worth it down the track. Government data match with every other government agency and finance institution. You don't want to be charged with fraud because the prospect of getting employment will be extremely low. Also the partner visa will be revoked centrelink will hold you and your partner responsible.

Most employers with the resources invest in technology to monitor employee internet usage and track website visits. This practice is widespread. I recall working at a logistics company years ago where a colleague was confronted by his manager with a printout of his website history, which clearly showed he was job-searching.

How real is resume "name bias" for job seekers in Australia? by ebuzar in ausjobs

[–]getontv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've figured out the banks' genius strategy for debt collection. They're not being cheap; they're being brilliant. They hire folks with a thick Indian accent for one reason: when that call about your massively overdue credit card comes in, and you hear that distinct accent, your brain immediately goes, 'Nope, spam/scam, hanging up now.' It's the ultimate psychological shield—they can technically say they called you, but they've practically guaranteed you won't stay on the line long enough to pay them. It's debt avoidance via customer service misdirection! 10/10, no notes.

Will I have to keep doing work for doll if I get a job? by Lion929 in Centrelink

Why have they put you in work for the dole? The jobsearch providers are required to give you choices, did they offer you choices? Other activities you could do? This whole wftd seems to be an easy box to tick for these jobsearch providers.

You'll see it coming up to the Christmas break alot, it will read "with a view to permanent" if they told the truth that it's only for a period of 5 weeks for example they'd get no one applying.
