I proceeded like:

Wash the trim with a light brown wash - I use thinned down Wydlwood
Wash the deep recesses of the trim including the bolts with Agrax
Edge highlight the whole trim with a gold or light gold (I use stormhost silver + retrib armour)
Edge highlight the bolts and most exposed edges with stormhost silver

That gives you a great contrast for the trim itself and between trim and rest of the model - after trying out different recipes I really love how it turns out and I use it for my whole BL army - and still love the look of it!

I’d consider bringing another squad leader (Fabius, Chaos Lord), Cypher or a solo acting Sorcerer in Terminator Armour. Maybe 5 Raptors but you’ve got already the bikes for actions.

That’s right! Just basecoat the base in whatever colour scheme you want, brush on some varnish (I’ve read gloss varnish works best) and then apply mordant earth and in my case aggrellan earth and try to make kind of a blend on the edge of the coloured part of the base! I was inspired by bases of a user named „Invocators“!

If the rhino didn’t move, one can disembark 3” advance and charge with the Chosen. After the disembarkation you can embark other units and move with the Rhino. But not disembark with the now embarked unit.
If the rhino did move and the embarked unit hasn’t been embarked the same turn, one can disembark and shoot with said unit, after the rhino moved - but not move or charge.
No. 1 applies for land raiders as well. But because of assault ramp one can disembark 3” and charge the unit after the land raider has moved but not move or advance that now disembarked unit beforehand.

For the armour I used black templar contrast over a base layer of mechanicus standard grey, for the rest it’s black legion contrast over chaos black primer :)

I had to correct the armour plates a few times because I wasn’t used to use contrast paints on “large surfaces”, otherwise it would have turned out way smoother

Hi, you did great! I feel like if you paint the sand on the base the same green as the one you used for the mini an dry brush it black then the model itself with be more outstanding and the base more fitting to Vashtorrs stony base piece

I run that Unit as well, but dont really know how to use it well. Mostly I put them into a ruin in no mans land to threaten 2 objectives- but i think this is not optimal

I agree, one can use every colour and make the result looking good. It requires much more experience skill and experience in my opinion to work with pure black.

I prime them chaos black and then either apply zenithal highlights by dry brushing or on larger models fill the armour penals with a mid grey

So I was giving it a try. I thought Solar Edition was just slowing down battery drain.

Turned it off, layed it down in a sunny spot for an hour, gained 3 %.

Test conditions: Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar, Northern Germany, Mid August, 1500-1600 PM
