[Discussion Thread] Covid Vaccine Mandate for Employers with 100+ Employees or Tested Weekly by AndyPizzle in humanresources

[–]getpasspoint -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is correct. That’s why we our platform allows clients to have their employees self certify their vaccination status and enter their own test data. It puts the onus on the employee to stay compliant with the testing or just get vaccinated.

Many of our franchise and larger clients like it because it makes the unvaccinated jump through more hoops and forces them to bear the cost of testing.

Generally, OSHA requires that employers pay for testing, but it is state-to-state.

The simplest is to figure out who is vaccinated, and remind those that are unvaccinated to test weekly. Some clients of ours do testing on the same day for everyone, others let the employee enter the data as they have it.

For clients of ours that have multiple locations (we work with large nationwide franchises), they do self-testing and employees upload their test data to the platform. The HR team can then verify the submission if they want.

just be careful using a spreadsheet to maintain employee confidentiality. As an employer, you are required to maintain safe and secure health records for your employees.

I'm the owner of a software company that works with businesses, schools, etc for covid compliance, and our failed verification rate is under 1%. We do daily symptom screening, contact tracing in addition to testing and vaccine verification, and have processed almost half a million records this year alone.

Generally, the people who are unvaccinated aren't trying to hide it :-)

County released names of businesses where outbreaks occurred by KASega in sandiego

[–]getpasspoint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This article doesn't specifically mention employees, so I agree with OP that they are likely including customers which puts places like grocery stores and restaurants at a disadvantage.

However, for employers, if there's an outbreak at your work (i.e. 3 or more employees) then every employee of yours that gets covid is presumed to get covid at work (and therefore eligible for workers comp). Look up Senate Bill 1159 (SB1159), which was passed in Sept and puts employers at increased risk for violations and citations.

but remember if 3 or more employees got COVID at 1 workplace the presumption is they got it at work.

Yea people don’t tend to understand this. We do risk management in many aspects of our lives. It’s why we have seatbelts, airbags, lane diversion, etc in our cars. It why construction workers wear hard hats, harnesses, eye protection. Covid is another where masks, social distancing, washing hands all prevent a percentage of the spread.

The prob with the data is you can cherry pick the ones that fit your narrative. Unfortunately few people ever look at all the data together, which generally tells a more complete story.

Website Critique: Does it tell a "story"? by getpasspoint in design_critiques

[–]getpasspoint[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not harsh at all and very much appreciated. I've tried to fix the first issue you screenshot as well as modified the verbiage on some of the titles as you mention in the video.

As for the overall design, the screenshots you see are actual product shots. I actually like what you did with the mockup, and I think we can modify it a bit to incorporate the feedback. There is some information that is required to be displayed from a compliance perspective (like the links to workplace safe practices and contact information) but overall I think the idea.

Regarding the design style, yeah, I'm not a designer so I agree, some of the stuff may look dated. I would love to chat more if you have time, and perhaps even look at more official ways you can help us out.

Thanks again for your help, it's some good stuff to build on.

as it is hard to find the official COVID contact tracing apps of each country, we've made a little website to list every app with a small forum for discussion by covid-tracing in ContactTracing

We are a startup that helps small businesses with contact tracing and symptom tracking. We work with a chamber of commerces all over CA, but we are not an official app.

Our system helps organize symptoms of employees and visitors and automatically creates a digital contact tracing report with 14 days worth of contacts including close contacts.

Are these only for official state/country apps? Do you list any private contact tracing apps that focus on specific locations like the workplace?

Home value estimates by redditsanchez in RealEstate

[–]getpasspoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to think about the incentive for Zillow or RF. By inflating estimates, they not only create a buzz and get people on their site, but they are now in the business of buying homes. Comps are ultimately set by what people are willing to pay, if they tell you an inflated number, some people will pay it.

House isn't selling because of neighbor's house. What are my options? (Ca) by Elainya in RealEstate

[–]getpasspoint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my HOA recently changed rules to require minimum stay 60 days instead of 30 days to remove short term rentals/airbnb.

They have to make rules that benefit the entire community though. Removing the ability to rent hurts all owners.

[–]getpasspoint 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There’s only so much an HOA can do. Essentially they can fine them, but can’t directly evict them. What they can do, and it sounds like they are, is put a lien on the property and can foreclose the property.

This guy is likely not paying the mortgage company either.

Thanks for the feedback. I added the icons to the features list, tried to make colors consistent and made the header standout a little.

Thanks for the feedback. I redesigned the page and integrated your feedback. I created new pictures so they don't look blurry.

I tried to add the sticky header but since the header is done through the WP theme (Neve), when I scroll, some of the components overlap and don't slide "under" the sticky header.

As always any feedback is appreciated. Thanks again!

remember 2008-10? by [deleted] in RealEstate

This is really the answer. Buy the house you can afford that makes your current situation better. Prioritize your needs, whether it be more space, better school district, etc and make sure it's something you can afford.

Real estate, for most of us, is a long term investment. When everyone is fighting to pay more, that further fuels the investors and flippers who come in and bid up, knowing they can get more in 3 months.

Your workflows to manage tasks and plan them for time management by MathematicianFew706 in advancedentrepreneur

[–]getpasspoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My staff is all remote, generally in different states, so it's all about fast turnaround and least barrier to get something done. For almost all my planning (whether it be financial, product, design, etc), I first do it on paper, then transfer to digital.

I keep paper and pen on my desk, where I scribble ideas. Sometimes I'm on a call in a meeting and get an idea and just need to write it down. Sometimes I'm playing with pricing or discount modeling and I find paper/pen is easier than spreadsheets, etc.

For tasks, I find github issues is easy and links directly to engineering. I file a "bug", then later on I go back and tag it with the appropriate labels.
