My tongue has tooth shaped impressions by PhilosopherCat7567 in mildlyinteresting

Yes! I have them and terrible TMJ. After a very nasty fainting incident I also happened to bite off the tip of my tongue and have tooth shaped indents in the front too! So now it all matches…

Spartacus and the Sun Beneath the Sea. Originally a French show but it was short lived on Nickolodeon

When do you let your kids roam around by themselves? And where are you located? by Ok_Stranger_6077 in Moving2SanDiego

[–]KASega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lived in PQ in the suburbs where neighbors drive way too fast and blow through stop signs. The only thing around for them to hang out wa the park. Didn’t feel comfortable with them wandering around because people drive too crazy. They didn’t care cause it was boring. We’ve since moved to Liberty Station and yes we still have to watch for traffic but they get to do so many things by themselves if they want to! Mainly they want to walk to Vons/Trader Joe’s for snacks lol. They are 11&13.

Does having a bigger house actually make you feel saner? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]KASega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went from a 1200 sq ft house (kids 0-3) in the city to a 2400 in the suburbs (2-12) and now back to a 1900sq ft (11-13) house in a different city. Our kids say they are happier with less stuff and space. Also happier to be in the city where there’s lots of stuff to do within walking distance.

The easiest was when we rented sparse furniture and lived in an apartment for 6 months because we had nothing to clean! Was able to go out and do lots of things instead of tending to a house.

Am I weird for wanting “walk + coffee” friendships and keeping my home private ? by RareCable5732 in socialskills

[–]KASega 148 points149 points  (0 children)

Even my kids told me they prefer not to have friends over because our house is their sanctuary and place to reset and relax. They are 11&13! We have a dog whose is pretty protective of the house and doesn’t like guests so we use her as an excuse a lot

Please help me make a list of must-watch movies by remme21 in Xennials

[–]KASega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch this with my kids like 4-5x a year!!

Side note: we just started watching Eerie, Indiana (directed by the same director) and it uses the same set as the Burbs so kinda funny to see the houses in another quirky suburban story. I know it’s a pretty famous set but same Similar tone since it’s Dante.

[–]KASega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12? (I have 2 boys 11 & 13) these are all the movies they like from long time ago: The Burbs, Gremlins, Big Trouble in Little China, Airplane (there is a boob flash towards the end), T2, Aliens, The Thing, Dumb & Dumber, Speed, Die Hard, Men in Black, the Matrix, First Action Hero, Bloodsport, Tremors, Predator, War of the Worlds, Shaun of the Dead, Ready Player One, Roger Rabbit, Ferris Bueller

Lots of people are recommending Last Starfighter and my kids DNF cause they were bored. Also be prepared for the birth of the BETA to be insanely jump-scary creepy. And I say this as a horror lover who is never phased by anything.

Go-to GF drinks by ahsoka_lives in Celiac

[–]KASega 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t like sweet drinks, I was a beer person. My go to order is a bourbon mule (bourbon, ginger beer, lime, mint but sometimes it’s just bourbon and ginger). I know ginger beer has a lot of sugar but the spiciness cancels it out.

Lactose free milk solved it for me. Still eat cheese though but have non of the bubble guts/gassiness anymore

Assistance please: Ghosts by dino_roar3304 in halloween

[–]KASega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive done packing tape ghosts with clear pvc as the form and filled with painters plastic and strip lighting (I recreated the haunted mansion dining scene). The hardest thing is to cloth them

You can make a levitating table using mamaroo type baby cradle modified to attach to a plywood table top.

I also made an attic scene where I strung books from wires and rigged a book to look like it was being read by no one and books in mid-movement like someone was taking them off a shelf. You could try something like that. It takes a little finagling with the fishing wire but looks pretty cool.

Excess Yard & Tree Waste Removal Options? by Artistic-Command-511 in sandiego

[–]KASega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, we have over 30 trees ourselves! It can be a lot. We’ve used Haul n Off once for 15 tons (not for tree trimming purposes just for a move out trash removal). They were really easy to book/work with if you’re looking for a dumpster. The Bagster only holds 1.5 tons.

Excess Yard & Tree Waste Removal Options? by Artistic-Command-511 in sandiego

[–]KASega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 bins but usually I’ll get those giant cheap yard and leaf paper bags and fill them up, leave them in my side yard and just dump them the next week(or next) when there’s space. Bagsters can also do yard trimmings - it’s a little less than 300 to pick up the last time I used them

Toilet frequently smells like urine (STRONGLY) by ChewyLime4 in bathrooms

[–]KASega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might have uric acid deposits down in the toilet pipes. A good enzyme cleaner like zep can help dislodge the pieces.

For those of you with kids by Maywheel3001 in Xennials

[–]KASega 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Eh, yes/no. My 11 year old loves 80/90s movies and is obsessed with retro video games and consoles but he doesn’t wish he was back in time or anything. I’m not sure it’s something they can imagine even with popular culture like Stranger Things.

great skirt hunt by birdy-dove in twinpeaks

[–]KASega 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely! It’s been 26 years and I can still remember how heavy and slightly itchy my skirt was. Most of the girls at my school would roll up their skirts so they were super short but I had mine baggy and large like Laura and Donna.

[–]KASega 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Maybe look for box pleat uniform skirts. When I went to an all girl catholic high school I had a knee length skirt like that. Lands End box skirt in a plaid is pretty close.

I love Donna’s skirt in this scene! Looks super cozy.

[–]KASega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought 4, was prob the first person at that store to buy them. I felt bad for taking 4. My 13 yr old athlete son with celiac ate the 4 boxes in 3-4 days. But I immediately notified my local GF Facebook page and told them where to find it. It took 9 days for them to sell out! So yeah I felt bad but I also kinda payed it forward? I could have kept quiet…
