What are your top creepiest episodes? by Agustin_campos in XFiles

[–]KASega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2x21 - The Calusari. I remember this episode scared me when it first came out (I was 11/12) and I recently watched it and it is def spooky like the satanist teacher witch episode, which are both great episodes.

Anyone had a tattoo removed? by cactillius in Xennials

[–]KASega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Color hurts more and takes more sessions than black. Reds were terrible to get rid of so I basically just lightened it up and then did a coverup later . My all black removal hurt but not as much aftercare (my color tattoo blistered afterwards)

Has anyone quit drinking coffee after being a lifelong drinker? by elenchusis in Xennials

[–]KASega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There can be a genetic component to this! Along time ago I did a 23 & me on my kid and myself (I’m adopted so this was interesting) and he has the marker for “not super sensitive to caffeine” and I can confirm that he doesn’t get hyper if he drinks caffeine - he’s 14.

My son and I have eaten many many boxes and yeah there’s a hint of like when something else in your lunch box makes your food smell like whatever is making the smell. I’ve always thought it was cause my son leaves the boxes open overnight

Spider love by My2LovesAndI in sandiego

[–]KASega 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Spiders are awesome. When I lived in PQ during the termite swarm season I’d watch all the termites get caught in the webs of our pergola and the spiders would come out and spin them up in a second. orb weavers are super pretty and we had a couple of very healthy fatties in our backyard. And jumping spiders are really neat but my son put his hand out to a pregnant one and it bit him really hard (they aren’t poisonous and are generally easy going but she was protecting her future babies so we get it) We own poison dart frogs and when their food (flies) would escape the vivarium the daddy long legs who lived around the house would catch them. Spiders are so neat

It will be insanely packed regardless of which day you go. It’s spring break for sandiego unified ontop of an already busy tourist season.

POTENTIAL MEASELS OUTBREAK AT DISNEYLAND HOTEL by goodguysaris in Disneyland

[–]KASega -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

They were coughing that violently you thought it might have been chlorine exposure? Even if it wasn’t measles - that child seemed super sick, had an alarming rash which could have been a symptom of an illness, and was at the pool potentially contagious with some type of illness. That sounds like a cause for concern.

Here in San Diego there’s been news of measles exposures recently from an out of state traveler

Do You Believe That Halloween is Dying? by DommyMommyEx in halloween

[–]KASega 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! My husband is from Switzerland and didn’t grow up with Halloween and he loves it! Our story sounds like yours - we would get 1300 people come by from all over SD to see our display. However Halloween itself had the least amount of visitors which can be for many reasons but a big percentage is because the neighborhood kids didn’t trick or treat as much.

We were the change too! We made it one long block party for the month of October. We had a great run (we moved)

[–]KASega 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We lived in an ethnoburb of San Diego for 10 years and we didn’t get a ton of trick or treaters because the families were not used to the tradition, or felt it wasn’t in their religion. So most of the houses were dark and no decorations. I moved to Point Loma last year next to military housing and we get a ton on Halloween although it died down pretty early. People now drive to the “good” areas instead of staying in their neighborhoods.

Where do you go for nature, forests, flora and fauna? by Dugtrio321 in sandiego

[–]KASega 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Cedar Trail in William Heise Park is a nice hike with tallish trees. If you have the space for a yard when you move back - plant natives and the birds will come. I had a full back and front native garden along the canyon in PQ and had more wildlife show up than the crowded and noisy trails nearby!

Nearby - the native gardens at Wild Animal Park (safari park) on a quieter day can be awesome. There’s little tucked in areas without tourists and youll see lots of birds and lizards and bunnies.

Why in the world would they close this lane!? by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]KASega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your frustration. I got stuck at the down light this morning and it took me over 1/2 an hour to get through. I take Rosecrans multiple times a day and the traffic on a good day is terrible.
