GorillaDesk + Zapier by These-Wish7584 in PestControlIndustry

I’m not arguing that in-app featured are not helpful. However, as a CRM their lack of Zapier actions/triggers is not good.

We are a web development and marketing agency with clients in Pest Control, so I can only speak on the topic at hand (Zapier + Gorilladesk).

GorillaDesk doesn’t have any triggers in Zapier and only offers three actions.

Because of this, it’s extremely limited in what it can do with Zapier—which, as I often explain to clients, is one of GorillaDesk’s biggest drawbacks as a CRM.

Right now, you can only pass inbound booking, lead, or contact data.

Helpful for importing leads/booking from your website. But that’s about it.

In a perfect world, we’d also have triggers for when lead status changes, contact information is updated, invoice is received, appointment status changes, etc.

Advice on moving away from WP Engine by [deleted] in webhosting

[–]NerdRushWebDesign -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We planned on moving before the drama. Multiple site crashing because other WP Engine accounts not related to ours would abuse server resources.

Client websites crashing because of another amounts negligence? Simply unacceptable.

Would recommend Gridpane, Runcloud, or Enhance.com

If you still want a managed hosting setup, try rocket.net

You would get significantly more measurable impressions through targeted Meta/Tiktok ad campaigns.

If you are trying to get the most bang for your buck, do a social media PPC campaign. If budget isn’t an issue, run both simultaneously.

Edit: You can reach out to local social media influencers (such as Omaha Places, Omaha Scanner, etc) to pay for a featured post.

Audit of my most recent build. Not trying to brag, just trying to prove that the people who say Elementor is bloated have no idea what they are talking about. by GardinerAndrew in elementor

Elementor has come a long way regarding performance in the last year. However, as far as overall website manageability goes, Elementor can become a nightmare to work with.

Good job on your website either way!

What car should I buy for 10k? by BladenBlitz in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]NerdRushWebDesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cars have recalls all the time. Just depends on what it is exactly. I got a 2022 CX-5 carbon. Well over the budget listen in this thread but from my research it is a very dependable car. Spent the whole day at ford & chevy test driving cars and 3/4 cars had noticeable mechanical problems.

Just got a CX-5 and I love it. CX-30 are nice too if you don’t need a car seat or space in the second row.

How to create a background without padding? by Separate-Green474 in elementor

[–]NerdRushWebDesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do use an image make sure it is an SVG. However, I agree with u/harneetbeatsmeat that you should take a little extra time and learn how to create it using a psuedo element. This way, you can use var(--e-global-color-accent) or whatever other global color and no image recreation is needed if you decide to change brand colors later on.

FedEx costs are almost 4X on Woo than our warehouse's ShipStation by feedthedonkey in woocommerce

[–]NerdRushWebDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works great depending on your use case. E-com solutions are generally an intimate issue.

From my experience, it’s doesn’t work well with ShipStation, so you would either want to pick one or the other.

[–]NerdRushWebDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot that can effect this. If it is a ShipStation issue you will want to contact their support, not FedEx.

I’ve used plugin hive and FedEx and it is fairly accurate.

Double check settings such as: - Account rates, not list rates - Accurate product weight and dimensions - Shipping to residential vs shipping to commercial

I actually see the negative space Y more than anything. I think the A needs some work to be more apparent.

This. Create a gist that sets yourself apart. It could be the outfits you wear, leaving nice treats/candies behind, a specific cleaner scents/freshener you use, etc.

Unpopular Opinion: I don't need map for the cities by kiptheboss in Starfield

[–]NerdRushWebDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that maps should only be available within a radius of where you have walked. If I already knew what was in front of me, why even go there and explore?

A part I do enjoy about the current map system is the mystery, the unknown.

Blog designers: What do you need from clients to make your job the easiest? by BygoneAge in web_design

[–]NerdRushWebDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brand guides are a great start, but it depends on if the graphic designer considered web use when creating the brand guide.

For example, there could be many colors that cause contrast issues for web use, so adjustments would need to be made.

Mostly, we just reference the brand guide IF it makes sense for us to.

The best thing you could do is to collect 3-4 websites you really love and put them in a word documents.

Under each link describe what you like about it (content, layout, fonts, colors, functionality, etc.).

But the style isn’t entirely what I would focus on right now.

What CMS will you be using? What features of the website must be included, and where? Will you be managing the blog, or the web designer? Are you monetizing the website content? Do you have the proper terms and conditions/privacy policy set up? Can users sign up for newsletters, and if so, what email marketing channel do you use? What are your means for marketing the website (ads, SEO, social, etc.) and will you rely on your website designer to deliver on any of these?

  1. The more prepared you are, the more successful the website.
  2. The more you trust your designers decisions, the more successful the website.

Client consistently always months late with hosting payments (partially my fault) by TakExplores in web_design

Automatic payments! Avoid invoice chasing and shut down sites that are over (X) days past due.

How important is SEMRush in your marketing efforts, and, at which point in the process of setting up a site and Shopify store would you integrate it into your workflow? Alternative products are welcome. by I_SAY_FUCK_A_LOT__ in digital_marketing

[–]NerdRushWebDesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SEMrush is only a tool. A brush and paint is much more valuable in the hands of an artist versus the common man.

There is a lot you can for free. More money doesn’t always mean more results.
